Re: the cover thread

Having seen this at the weekend, I feel that it deserves sharing.

John Otway's version of The Animals' "House of the Rising Sun" in his own inimitable style.

Jane's Addiction covering, first, Lou Reed's Rock n Roll, and then the Stones' Sympathy for the Devil.

Re: the cover thread

I know we've had the Roxy music's version of jealous guy but I think this beats it hands down! Eliott Smith's excellent version. I love the gentle vulnerability of his voice, which suits this song very much...

Re: the cover thread

What if we like the lesser-known original better than the well-known cover?

Re: the cover thread

John Martyn's 'May You Never' covered by Tom Palmer, a folk singer who I have seen around Sussex and Cornwall for around 20 years.

This was recorded at a private function in the rain so there is a little background noise. Hope this doesn't spoil a great song.

Re: the cover thread

No video as such, but the cover is awesome.

Mark Ronson - God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Also, if you've been having trouble recently with Youtube videos flickering into the corner of the screen (apparently a Flash 10 problem, but they don't seem to want to fix it), then add " &fmt=18 " to the end of the url

Re: the cover thread

Marilyn Manson's version of *Sweet Dreams* saw him in Basel a few years back and he sang or rather screeched this - ooh he's a lovely boy! Great show.

Re: the cover thread

I was trying to find the cover version of Rihanna's "Umbrella" that was played at the end of the F1 coverage yesterday. I don't know who it was by but this one popped up:

Manic Street Preachers - Umbrella (Acoustic Version)

I have found the version that was featured. It is by Biffy Clyro. Excellent cover. Much better than the original IMHO.
