Trouble with new ipad - operator error?

So had to get a macbook and ipad for work and have to say I have had so much stress.
All seemed to be well but the ipad I bought would not charge,so had to go back to store and had to be changed for a new one as there was a problem.
So I get the new one home it but now the icloud which was working on the first one does not seem to work and also an app that I paid on the first ipad seems to have disappeared too
I have an email with a receipt from apple that showed I bought the app. The guy said that my id would ensure that it would download again without any problem but I am app less, icloud less and fed up.
I have to do a presentation in a couple of weeks aswell and to be honest think I will dig my old acer out.

Clever EF computer people - any ideas what I press ?

well when you go into the the app store and look for the app you want it should say "install" rather than the price to pay for it. Then you can just click on the install button and you have it again. Have you tried that?

Yes, I have tried that and it is just showing the price, I have gone through the process and it wants me to pay - the id on the mac and the ipad are the same - but the icloud does not seem to be working either.

Agree to pay, then it will tell you you have already paid & it's free.

Thanks,
I went so far and when it wanted me to put my card number I cancelled - are you saying I should have put it in and then it tells me that I have already paid after I have put the number in?

My card no is saved on my apple account, sounds like you have several accounts........
If you do get charged in error or you 'made a mistake' then Apple generally will refund.

Re: Trouble with new ipad - operator error?

This should not happen.
Did you sign in with the same user-id to iCloud on the Mac and on the old & new iPad?
Can you see the apps in iTunes on the Mac, once you sign in to iTunes?
You should be able to sync them from there, at least - but iCloud should work, too.
I would book another appointment with the Genius-bar...

I agree, when you go to buy it should be asking you for your acct password and not a card #? I even juggle 2 accts w/ 2 different e-mails and I haven't been asked for a card number (or redemption code) since setting them up...

Have you tried a reboot by holding home and power/sleep key (or whatever it is called!)?

Re: Trouble with new ipad - operator error?

Thanks for the replies - it seems that the app was an iphone app and the free app for the ipad of the same game has downloaded as well. I was told that if an iphone app is downloaded it can work but in a different way

Anyway, Apple store are sorting it out as it should not have happened and icloud is working now as well - Have downloaded Keynote which will do the job for a Power point so hopefully all will be smiles again in the Smackerjack household

Good news! It can be frustrating at first, especially when dealing with iTunes, etc...
