Anyone know this product? And is it available to the public to buy?

"Vilega - Chem. techn. Produkte"

Vilega WC Sanitär-Reiniger - für Toiletten-, Bade-, Douch-, WC-lagen, Schwimmbassin, Rein*(*last words missing on label) und entfernt Kalkablagerungen. Vilega* (*missing word) hindert das Oxydieren und Verkalk*(*missing) der Gegenstände.

Giftkklasse 5 S.
No EGA
Nicht einnehemen.
Enthält 6% Citronensäure.
Dètergentien.

(There is an adress - 5610 Wohlen, Telefon 057 - 63728)

..........................
I found this plastic bottle in the cellar. a 1 ltr bottle. Absolutely EXCELLENT de-kalker!
The smell, and results, reminds me of the stuff used in the schools here, for Springcleaning - bought in bulk containers - very expensive.
One wipe and rinse and kalk is GONE.
I used some on ancient old copper and it came up shining like new!

It`s SO strong - have to use rubber gloves, and have fresh air circulating.

.........................

Yes, the adress. And phone number. My German is not so good I`d take the risk of phoning to ask. Or writing a letter. (no email adress for experimenting with) Just wondered if anyone else here has heard of them?
I tried Googling the name - but got just Chinese characters, and not anything informative.

I would assume that this is the stuff that my plumber uses to de-calc the toilets - a dark brown liquid that really takes out the calcium deposits.

Since it's considered as poison (Giftklasse = poison classification), I would assume that you need a license to buy it.

But you may want to contact a local plumber to ask if he can get you some.

No, you don't need a license, but you do need to buy it in a specialty shop (or probably even a droguerie).

Not brown - it`s a clear water-like fluid, with a hell-of-a-smell (!) It KILLS the kalk, no rubbing or scrubbing, just wipe some on and rinse off - eesy peesy!

We use a similar product in the school spring-clean, used on/in all the plumbing, and flooring and showers in the Hallenbad. But the school stuff is bought in huge barrels not affordable by normal folk.

I`ll take the advice offered, and go ask at the local Drogerie.

Yes take the bottle to the Drogerie, you will have to sign the "poisons book", so take a Swiss photo ID with you as well.

The drogerie also have strong stuff from other companies. BE CAREFUL, I used some and it started to take the chrome plating off the taps.

Re: Anyone know this product? And is it available to the public to buy?

Four things:

1) Your product contains citric acid. A very good descaler, odorless, and food friendly. Just go to a drug store/Drogerie and order 1kg of it. Very cheap no ID needed. Just dissolve 60 grams in 1 liter to get the desired strength. You can also use to make elder flower sirup in spring.

2) It may have been distributed through S. M. L. Handel GmbH which is no longer in operation.

3) I personally very happy with the Buzil products. But their descaler is not citric acid based.

4) Also, look at a local small business hardware store (Eisenwarengeschäft) what they can offer.
