God's waiting room? Ask Stace from Bodmin

live in Bodmin and theres nothin to do at all!!!!!wow, we have a park but wot good is that to us young people. if we hang around the park at evenins we just get critised as trouble makers even if there is nothing goin on!

we have a skate park which is so small that in the summer it is so cramped and we cant use it in winter becuz there is no lights!its absolutly pitch black!theres nothin to do in the town...there was an amusement arcade but thats been made to over 18s!!

there is an under 18 club night at the eclipse night club but it seems babyish with 14yr old going around wen ur a year and a half from gettin in the over 18s which is so much better but u arent allowed in!!!we have no cinema and have to go to st austell or wadebridge which adds to the expense!!people moan about young people hangin around the town but there is nothin for them to do!!we have a few good shops such as madhouse, DPs e.t.c and a surf shop has opened up but there seems to be so many charity! shops and electrical shops!!!in fact many places are like it!!!!its about time that something was done about it!!and its obvious that so many people our age want something creative, like a skatepark,or at least somewhere to go like a cinema!!!!all over cornwall!!!
Stace, Bodmin

Best wishes for your next move and apparent retirement, are you really old enough to retire? seem much too young, although I understand Mrs. G could take early retirement with all her years.

Now who is going to keep me up to speed on all the happenings in little Mies?

Anyhow wishing you and Mrs. G all the best.

Well he's planning on going to Sussex if all goes to plan. Now that really is God's waiting room. Zimmer frames and mobility scooters are obligatory there.

All the best Grynch. Twas a pleasure to have met you.

Come on, she is talking about Bodmin, of all places. Probably one of the dreariest towns I have ever had the misfortune to visit. The only interesting thing about it was the mental hospital, but even that has gone now.

I would also like to add we will be, while in Cornwall, miles from Bodmin, the town, but right on the edge of Bodmin Moor the beast lives just down the road.

glad to see you will "live the dream"

All the best for you and Mrs. G's next chapter, grynch!

I would love to have sent you a couple of these as going-away-to-Cornwall presents, but couldn't find them at Manor:

Stay happy, witty, warm and dry, and think of us over here in CH when you are buying brown sugar at Tesco at 11 p.m. on a Sunday night!

You're only retiring old chap, don't take it quite so seriously!

Hope the move goes well, whichever one of God's waiting-rooms you end up in, don't let the germans get away with putting their towels on the deckchairs/recliners.
And remember; sone of us know where you'll be living!

Grynch, I am going to miss you!!! I regret that we never actually met, because I have a sneaky suspicion we live in the same neighbourhood/area, at least at the moment.

As for your swansong, how about "wish me luck as you wave me goodbye"! A friend's husband has requested that this be played at his cremation as the curtains close!

Take care, and all good wishes to you and your wife.

Good one!!!

Well gryncho, Goodbyes are such bittersweet sorrows. There is no other EFer who has insulted, given me more groans and red blobbies than you....what was is of lately? Right, pompous a**hole...
I was always hoping, that because of your advanced age, your artritis would eventually kick in and you wouldn't be able to type much anymore....or that you ODed on Viagra, trying to type with one finger.....but in the end, I'm glad your over-inflated, forum fairy/diva self didn't. It's good to see you leaving (ya know, enjoying retirement and all) and I hope to see you back here.

Here...I've got a song for you.
