not the sharpest top in the box.
You don't need sharp tools when all you eat is grass.

I'm not sure its down to trolling, he's just clearly a bit (to put it mildly) nuts, and possibly not the sharpest tool in the box.
Blame the poor quality omega-3. I've never met a long-term vegan who wasn't at least a little bit bonkers if not nutty as a 20lb Christmas fruitcake...

Just reminded me of story of my great grandmother (this would have been around 1920 ). She was a vegan and ate a butter substitute made from nuts. It was called nutter.

So basically we have a ton of swearing at people, childish insults, and overall thuggish posting involving inviting people for fights. It will be interesting to see how the mods will handle that considering people have been banned for FAR less than the amusingly mindless tirades that Vegan_Chef has posted in the last few days in this thread Vegan Cooking classes

To ignore it is to say it's ok, in which case why not lets all start doing it.

Rich - this is either your political pitch for mod powers or you've become Swiss in your young age. You could always try formulating a "disgusted reader's letter" to the Daily Mail with your grievances .....

Re: Healthy/Vegan food tips [Merged]

my best friend is vegan over 20 years now.. i am not and i was also somebody who think vegans are just weird people who are looking for attention.. but,its over a year now I started to do some sports and reading/learning about healthy food..so I just realized how smart is to be at least vegetarian if not vegan!

not only because of health issues but i also watched some movies like Earthlings,Food Inc. or Supersize me and I was schocked.. humans are so evil to animals and in many situations i trust more to an animal than human..

rescpect to all of you vegans!

Re: Healthy/Vegan food tips [Merged]

As an ex-Vegan, I say that it is one of the hardest and most difficult life-styles to maintain. Our ingrained habits are an addiction.

At the time I ate Vegan it was to attempt a self-cure of an ailment, and it worked. I won`t even go into details as it was unbelievable to everyone but me. And that was what was important.

I still wish, now, that I had the guts to stay on that way of eating. Never in my life have I felt so healthy and so full of energy. I could run 20kms in the morning, physically work on my farm all day, and go dancing in the evening. Doing 4 x 4hr training sessions a week. Never feeling tired. Never having any aches. Old arthritis in my hands cleared up. Eye whites glistened white.

But I got worn down by the attitudes of people generally. One is looked on as a freak, they don`t want to invite you to eat because they get all nervy about what you eat, they go all "oooohhhhh is THAT what a vegan eats? What about your protein?! What about your Calcium?! What about....?, what about?...... ad nauseum......

But mainly it`s about one`s self-control over those old ingrained habits .... the salt, the fried foods, spicy sausages, bacon, all the drooly stuff we love.

Actually, when I was vegan the smell of cooking meat made me nauseus - it smelled just like the bodies burning in a vehicle accident I once witnessed.

And the smell of my lovely (previously) home-made cottage cheese made me ill - it smelled just like that yellow pus that comes out of a pimple!

But you get over it in time, and if you eat meat, you don`t notice the stench.

How's the vegan recipe testing going?

I'd've added this to the original thread (in this section) but it's been closed.

For one reason or another, I've not done a 'proper shop' but I'm going tomorrow and drawing up a shopping list to include stuff to cook from the recipes VC has posted out.

Just wondering - how's the cooking going for everyone else?
