Rome ( IT ) advice

Heading to Rome for a few days next week. Any nice sights, bars, restaurants, museums, clubs etc that I should not miss out on. Any advice and input will be welcome. Thank you .

Re: Rome advice

I recommend you take the sight seeing bus so you get a glimpse at the most touristic places first and then spend the next few days exploring in detail...that's what we did and loved that we took our time rather than only seeing the 'top' places in two days. There are some gorgeous cafes, shops, and alleyways near the Spanish square that we loved.

Re: Rome advice

Best secret in Rome is the 'scavi' tour. But you have to book ahead...

Re: Rome ( IT ) advice

For food, go to Trastevere, tons of restaurants. Avoid any restaurants next to major tourist attractions, especially if they have plastic menus with photos and info in small print, that all their food is frozen.

If you have something to celebrate, this is a gorgeous restaurant with very good food (but not exactly modest prices) http://www.romecavalieri.com/lapergola.php

For sighseeing, you can buy many tickets online and there are also several cards and combined tickets available, so before you go, check that out. Saves you some time.
