If Doctor Who were Swiss...

...what would his TARDIS look like?

I'll admit it was a dumb question, but in this long-running British science-fiction series, the character of The Doctor travels in a time machine disguised as a British police call box. I wondered if there if there was anything similar that would not be out of the way in Switzerland (or at least parts of CH) but you would not find anyplace else? It doesn't have to be a telephone box at all. It could look like the customs booth I've seen in pictures situated on the southernmost border of Switerland in Chiasso?

Re: If Doctor Who were Swiss...

If the Doctor was Swiss he would probably still have Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) as his assistant...

Re: If Doctor Who were Swiss...

I don't know what the tardis would look like, but I'd hazard a guess that if he were swiss then he may actually be able to land the tardis in the right place, and more importantly at the right time, unlike his British counterpart.

Re: If Doctor Who were Swiss...

Can't find an image just now, but I am picturing something made of those tall, red and white warning barriers near construction zones. It would always land in the middle of major highways at random points during heavy traffic and force lane closures for at least 5km at a time.

Ummm, that's the ITALIAN customs in ITALY in Ponte Chiasso, and NOT the Swiss one in Chiasso!

Re: If Doctor Who were Swiss...

If the Doctor were Swiss, he'd never have to worry about the Daleks. As evidenced by the The Stolen Earth, in Germany the Dalek's said "Exterminieren". If they'd cross the Rhine and tried that in Swiss German, their voice boxes would have exploded.

The Swiss Tardis is in Lausanne. It's quite spacious.

I suspect that that Tardis is actually SMALLER on the inside than it is on the outside. Wait a second...
