Wow, loved that!

Especially the "Grow a backbone, not a wishbone" - Now I need to translate that into Swissgerman, or just plain German.

Re: Growing up

Ahahaha I had 2 at some point - wow Now they are pushing 40 we often laugh about those days, the screaming, the banging doors, the mess, the constant arguments about doing their homework with Guns and Roses blazing, etc.

Looking back - it was lots of fun

Agreed, this can be applied to all. Although teenagers are still kids and have the open mind to be changed, too many 'adults' suffer from a closed minded self-delusion that makes this much harder.

Re: Growing up

Well done judge and well done school principal. About time someone said that. I've never understood why teenagers seem to want everyone to treat them as grown-ups, yet don't want the responsibilities that go with the title.

I don't ever remember me and my friends saying "what can we do, where can we go". We knew what we were going to do: we played in our backyards, went to the movies, explored in the nearby woods, swam at the local pool, etc. Our days were never empty, some had chores to do, others didn't, but we never sat around saying there's nothing to do or gee we're bored.

Kids these days seem to have no imagination or any idea of the myriad of things out in the big wide world they could try.

Or she's already gone and moved out?

My parents took this (the article's) approach with me, and the older I get, the more I appreciate that they did.
