Hmm... I think we can probably excuse you this time for not actively searching the english forum for free turkeys at 00:30 at night.

But don't do it again!

Confused: Quoted my reply then ends with..."but don't do it again"

Question: Don't do what again???

Comment: Weird-

OP does not eat meat. I presume, not even if it's divided up into smaller meals...

Then why buy a big turkey in the first place!

I think they are feeding meat eaters so could be handy to have.

Anyways, someone is apparently picking up the turkey now so the conversation is ruined!

Bon App

Mate - you were apologizing for not replying immediately. I just meant we'll excuse you - just this once - for not sitting next to computer searching for turkeys in the middle of the night. Don't sweat it

Re: Free Turkey

I think whoever picks up the Turkey has to invite everyone to try it as a giving of thanks to the OP.

No sweat, dude. was simply unexpected strange humour, with bits of confusion..btw,apologizing or thanking in advance,i regard as Nice gestures, hence expecting similar response..different sense of humour is all.

Re: Free Turkey

I had that problem before...turkey too big for a standard Swiss oven.

Solution: roasted it on low heat in my weber gas grill for 5 hours with some soaked maple wood chips. The result was so good, I only do it that way now. Just wrap an oven shelf in foil, stuff and slather the bird with olive oil, set it on the foiled surface...bunch another layer of foil close to the bird so that the juices collect and not spread out and burn. Turn off the center burner, only the 2 outside burners on the lowest heat, shut the lid, and pour yourself a glass of wine. You literally do not have to do anything else for the bird until it's done. Outstanding result every time (I also brine the bird first for a day, but that's a different topic). I have done Turkeys up to 20 kilos this way. Also, no clean up! Just throw away the foil, and that's it!
