Dead man gets his wish granted

Here is a great story of how a man who died and wanted his story told has finally got his wish granted. After having died at an early age he want to warn others of the dangers of his deadly habit of smoking, now his dream has been realised with Australia showing a photo of him on his death bed on cigarette packets hopefully to decrease the number of new smokers.

Like we don't know the risks or haven't seen dying people before...

Seriously?! What is it with Australians and cigarettes? Is this somehow a national trauma?

Is smoking bad for you? Why didn't anyone say? I was going to make taking up smoking a resolution for 2013, as I've never done it before.

I think more people should smoke (especially Aussies) - there's too many people on the planet, as it is.

Re: Dead man gets his wish granted

Here`s an extract from that article. Does it make sense?

He died from smoking, yet his wife was charged with attempted murder? - of him? or someone else? ...................

......"Attempts by Fairfax Media to contact Mr Curtis' family were unsuccessful. His wife, and son, who was just two when he died, were charged with attempted murder in September.".........

...........................

Oh well, another happy smoke thread, just in time for Christmas. Or is that Xmas?

But they won't. This kind of deterrent has been proved to have negligible effect on smokers.

Re: Dead man gets his wish granted

I think it`s a "fools joke". Simply by including that paragraph I quoted above - "His wife and two year old son were charged with his murder".

Ok, so maybe wife couldn`t stand looking at him anymore and put a pillow over his head? .... or his 2 year old son did? But then he did not die from his smoking habit!

Now his family reap the rewards in royalties for using his photos?

Sounds like another one of those "personal insurance scams".

No takers on that paragraph? I did not imagine it, it`s still there, I checked.

Did you not read the sentence completely? In September 2012, she was charged with the attempted murder of a man she met on an online dating site. Her husband died in 1999.
