I had a work colleague who was attacked by an eagle on the front lawn of the company where we worked. The eagle may have had a nest close by, but still, it was an unusual thing to happen. This was in Alberta, Canada.
It's not unusual they're protective of their nests.

I've been attacked whilst flying my paraglider near cliffs where eagles are nesting.

They'll repeatedly dive-bomb you until you fly away or until you reach the ground.

Here's an article about the same thing happening to a lady flying in Australia (where it happened to me, too).

eagles are more awesome than i thought.

had to LOL several times when they picked up goats and dropped them off the side of a cliff.
There's something primal and scary about being carried off by a flying monster with claws as big as pocket knives. They freak me out. Other large predators, be in on land or in the sea, mainly have to play by the same rules as their prey. Eagles can just swoop in and f**k your day up. Dragging the goats down, all like, "Haha, see ya at the bottom!" is so unfair. If eagles had emotions they'd probably be laughing to themselves that it's just too easy.

Are you implying most of the behavior exhibited in that video isn't something wild eagles would do?
I'm not implying anything. I'm saying that most eagles would not attack wolves or bears for a "kill" in the wild. Brids will scare off other animals that may be close to their nests, but given that a wolf (or bear) is likely never to get near an eagle's nest (usuall on cliffs or up trees)...

While I am not an eagle expert, looking at some of shots in the video, it is clear to me that the eagles being filmed attacking the wolf, for example, are trained birds with jesses around their legs.

Wild animals can be taught to do a lot of things that are not "natural". So no, I am not infering anything. I am saying that wild eagles would not do some of the things the (fun) video shows.

Re: baby snatched by eagle in park.....

I got very close to an eagle once, by accident, in nature, not in a zoo.

They are extremely large birds, and give off the impression that they have a lot of muscle, as opposed to feathers.

Re: baby snatched by eagle in park.....

I saw a short video showing where there were problems with this supposed event. when the eagle drops the child, the child floats in the air for a few frames. this is a set-up and a stupid one because now people will be shooting these birds.

Re: baby snatched by eagle in park.....

FYI, according to the German TV this evening the Baby Snatcher video is a fake based on the natural instinct of the eagle to pounce on it's prey and kill it on the spot rather than trying to fly off with it... plus the size of the child is much larger than the average appetite.
Still, creative

Well I think the goat video proves size and instant death are not a concern

Luckily it's fake. But it looked very real anyway

Re: baby snatched by eagle in park.....( Faked )

It would have been more believable if the eagle had carried it 30 yds and dropped the baby perfectly in a basketball net for a 3 pointer

Re: baby snatched by eagle in park.....( Faked )

I watched this with the assumption it was real. Two thinks struck me right away. The guy is filming the eagle as if he knows its about to do something. And that he only shouts "omg!" (In a voice that doesn't seem suprised) after the eagle catches the baby. If you were watching an eagle closely, you would probably react as soon as you saw him starting to swoop down. Not after. It seems too expected.
