Re: Circumcision: right or wrong?

I had to look up the word "dyspareunia".

More study would be interesting.

Maybe they're just BAD parents ? And they think of their child as a clone, not as a unique individual that might not appreciate his parents' choices later in life !

WHOSE BODY, WHOSE RIGHTS ? LET THEM DECIDE...
Point is, it is the child's body, not the parents. Circumcision is right if there are medical (repeated) reasons for doing it. Otherwise it is child abuse imho- no better than female ablation. Isn't it about time parents (people) started to challenge some aspects of their culture or religion, and stop following blindly. Shall we continue to drown, burn or lapidate witches or adulturous women (those who were forced into a marriage when they sincerely loved another man, etc).
Shall we go back to ye Olde Testament and follow it to the letter?

On dyspareunia? Are you volunteering or something? Good luck with that .

Didn't Russell Crowe had a good old Twitter rant about circumcision last week?

Re: Circumcision: right or wrong?

So basically in getting your kids circumcised, you screw up your children in a name of a religion not of their choosing. Nice one

Eating dogs and cats?
Perfectly legal in Switzerland!

(to eat them, not to sell the meat)

Re: Circumcision: right or wrong?

Legal does no make it right. Anybody comes anywhere near my Bernese and I'll have them for dinner! Our local hockey team still has a cat as an emblem, as they always caught, killed and cooked a big cat at the first meeting each season (fact confirmed by my dad). When I was a kid here in the 50s, we used to lock up our cats around Christmas, as the newly settled Italian workers would catch any strays for Xmas dinner. Try this now, and you'd be lynched, I'm sure.

Or maybe the guys can't orgasm because they have more sexual partners so they are all worn out?

From rough rabbis to roof rabbits in 29 pages!

There's a pleasing circularity to this thread...

Re: Circumcision: right or wrong?

I thought this might come back with the recent press coverage. While reading about the moves to ban it for non medical reasons in San Francisco I stumbled over the practice of 'Mezizah' this is where after the baby has been held down and cut up, the mohel sucks the still bleeding penis, in some cases communicating herpes. I have not the words

'mezizah' or 'mon zizi' - know which I would choose (well, if I had one).

I think we're done here for now. If anyone has a really important point to make that is absent from the preceding 30 pages, please let me know and I'll reopen it.

cut short snipped etc

Re: Circumcision in Switzerland: advice and info please

Hello,
We are having a baby boy in october in the Lausanne area. I want my baby to be circumcised when he is a newborn with local anesthesia vs waiting until he is older and using general anesthesia. I am not concerned about insurance. I am just looking for information or referrals of any doctors who will perform this procedure before we leave the hospital. We are delivering at Clinique Cecil.
Thanks for any help or advice.
J

Meanwhile, my (Swiss) stepson decided to get circumsised in his late teens "so he could have sex"! (I never asked for details).

What? I think you should have stepped in & asked for more information... That was a cry for help.
