It's a similar situation in the UK with BT Sport and Sky. And it's times like this when you have to put on the kettle and be thankful that you live in Switzerland where you can stream and torrent these things for free
Well you can torrent these things for free anywhere. But if I enjoy a program then I usually like to support it.

Today it's been announced that Clarkson, May and Hammond have signed a multi-million contract to create a new show on Amazon Prime. Meanwhile, Osin is back to fetching the tea. Now who's the winner and who's the loser out of all this...?

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/celeb...-10426102.html
We always knew they'd never lose out of this. Still doesn't mean you excuse Clarkson for attacking someone just to keep a programme on the air.

Expect your Amazon Prime subscription to be going up in the near future.

Clarkson and the Beeb now getting sued for racial discrimination. So that statement about "wanting to forget about it and move on" was a load of bollocks. At least when he realised there was a chance to make a quick buck out of it.

"Slater and Gordon" - aren't they the parasites that advertise during the Jeremy Kyle Show?

Well, you can't really say Clarkson's been punished for his disreputable behaviour. Kicked off Top Gear quite rightly, but still doing work for the Beeb and has a new better earning presenter's job with Amazon Prime. Has he learned anything from the experience? I doubt it.

Frankly Tymon shouldn't have waited so long to take action against Clarkson, should have done it straight away.

I like the way he's thrown in the race allegation. Going for the uncapped payout. Since when was Irish a race? And besides, the Irish are lazy

He has 7 years to take action IIRC, Clarkson is substantially richer today than he was at the time. Well calculated if you ask me.

Re: Top Gear: 2013

Sabine Schmitz best known for driving the BMW "ring taxi" around the Nürburgring race track has been selected as a co-presenter.
She also had a bar at the Ring but I believe it is closed now.

She is a very good driver, attractive and a nice personality.
I met her at a Porsche event at the Ring. She offered to allow a couple of us to follow her around the Ring (she was in the Ring taxi) but I lost my nerve after a couple of Km. Just as well as the other guy span off a few seconds later.
Expensive business crashing on the Ring you have to pay for all the repairs at Ring rates and you are not covered by your normal insurance.

Re: Top Gear: 2013

Final line-up announced:

Chis Evans
Matt LeBlanc
Eddie Jordan
Sabine Schmitz
Rory Reid (whoever he is? Newcomer Rory Reid was recruited to Top Gear from the show's 2015 public auditions, but previously presented for CNET's Car Tech channel, and also had a starring role in Sky 1's Gadget Geeks series.)
Chris Harris
The Stig

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35548081

Too many people I'm afraid. Unless the budget for the programme has increased from its 450K per episode, most of that has gone on salaries. Still, nothing new there - that's where most of it went with the old crew.

Re: Top Gear: 2013

So all's well that ends well. Clarkson gets a multi-million pound contract. Oisin gets a hefty payout for the racial discrimination and terrible abuse that he suffered, whilst keeping his job fetching the tea at the BBC. And the viewers get a new revamped lineup straight from a Benetton ad.

Really...? With Chris "I'm a hyperactive child" Evans?

It needs to be damned good. Sigh.

I'm skeptical, to say the least.

What the hell are all these people going to do? I reckon the only one who'll really know what their talking about is Sabine Schmitz.

Sabine knows just the 1 track - and wasn't even that good when asked to take on the WTCC boys last year

Harris doesn't do censoring - when Ferrari banned him from driving their cars - he went and bought one and reviewed it

Think they're working on the principle of more means better. Shame they're going to be disappointed.

Channel 4 suffers from the same thing with their horse racing coverage - 7/8 people each week and it just gets worse and worse. Beeb managed to do it with 3 and gave much better coverage.

Re: Top Gear: 2013

yesteday I watched an old TG episode randomly. it featured a race of professionals in airport machinery, a review of X5 M and Q7 W12, there was Guy Richie, lots of very funny "news" word play/boilet (that's boy and toilet) humour, and I thought to my self new top gear has a hard act to follow.

Even if it does match up to the original show (and from the stills of reliant robins, mustangs in scotland and chris abroad) people would expect it to be better... and it won't so

Re: Top Gear: 2013

CHRIS Evans’ dictatorial behaviour on Top Gear was the reason executive producer Lisa Clark quit, sources claim.
Source Sun; I know!

Looks like the whole thing is heading to the toilet....

Quote "BBC bosses put the relaunch back a fortnight to May 22 and cut the new series to six episodes due to filming delays."
&
"The show has also been hit by the departures of script editor Tom Ford and BBC2 controller Kim Shillinglaw."

In trouble again over the weekend.

Crashed a wedding, upset the Chancellor and now the army.

Not bad for a weekend's work. Seems they're proving to be just as much pratts as the last lot.
