It generally has the same meaning as c*nt, and is considered in many places to be a very rude word. Certainly on some UK forums I'm on, it'll get you a temporary ban.

I think both the decision to suspend him and to drop the remaining episodes tarnishes the BBC's reputation far more than anything that pillock might do.
I think it has more to do with a massive attitude problem that Jeremy is unable or unwilling to sort out. Of course it all depends on which side of the fence you are on.

Personaly I think he is funny but certainly not as funny as the fan boys and girls in his audience think he is.

I get the feeling Jeremy could read out the weather report and at the end the audience would laugh. They remind me of religious fanatics. Anyway as previousely stated you can watch or change the channel.

Also, it seems Bigblue's story is true, well it's in the papers now at least.

Depending on which side you read the lential wearing, beard eating Director of Televsion has political leanings that make Lenin look positively right wing - and has made it #1 priority to nail Clarkson to the wall.

It would never be the same though. Part of Top Gear's major international appeal is the Beeb's unique ability to distribute and market the show in so many markets (Russia, China, India, Iran etc..). The UK terrestrial channels don't have that reach and Sky is restricted to those that pay heavily for their add on service. Clarkson would be a fool to leave the BBC, but that may now be out of his control.

P.s and just look at Jonathan Ross, he never managed to recover his peak audience after he left the Beeb for ITV

An apt story at this time of year (albeit couple of weeks early) ...... even the initials are the same.

murdoch owns quite a few tv stations around the world now I think so distribution wouldn't be an issue

It would be in the UK though, what % has Sky? Most people I know have freeview and Netflix, no need to pay the evil dwarf any more.

doesn't seem to stop them paying billions for the football etc etc they have enough subscribers, and adding topgear (or whatever it would be called) will only get them more, plus nothing to stop them selling it netflix or all the other streaming services, that would make more sense as most of the world pirates it anyway.

Re: Top Gear: 2013

It's all just a big farce. They fire him, stop airing new Top Gear seasons for some 6-8 weeks - ratings go down slightly. They re-instate JC and ratings go through the roof. Simples really.

Thank you. That's a strange thing to hear from someone who would obviously love a bit of beard on beard with Jeremy Clarkson.

1.1% which, frankly, ain't very much.

http://www.barb.co.uk/whats-new/weekly-viewing-summary

C4 and C5 aren't much better.

Revolution was Sky's most popular in April 2013 and only pulled just over 2 million viewers compared to 5+ mil for Top Gear that year.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s204/...p6IioYGaAlGmmW

Depends if Clarkson wants more money or to keep up viewer numbers. If the latter then only moving to ITV would give him a glimmer of a chance.

Given that they'd need a different format for the programme too, sounds like a risk to hire him. I'm sure one of the others will though, should the Beeb dump him for good.
