Yep. My fault on the name typing Kri. I was hoping they would fix it like they did yours--and I was willing to pay a penalty. I think it's just a sign of the times. They saw an opportunity to take 2 grand off me and they did it. Mind you, I was dealing with the Swiss office and they are probably getting banged on pretty hard from London HQ to make quotas and not cut anybody slack--least of all a schmuck like me going on holiday with his family. I'm sure they treat corporate clients better.

That really is insultingly rude. We now call them "Spaniards".

Well Easyjet fixed it and I thin at least partly it was because I called them immediately after booking and pleaded with them to help me correct MY error...
I wonder whether you called them so promptly and pleaded? Your post here seemed to impley they did something wrong which in fact they did not as they rendered the service you asked and paid for...

Re: Beware Ebookers

Not used them for a year ot 2 now as I found their prices were becoming less competitive. However last time I did there was an error in the booking (partially my fault, partially the fault of their web site design. Phone and fixed immediately.

But the travel agent told me that the airlines allow for 3 misspelled characters, and whether or not that's the case, i didn't have a problem.
I wouldn't recommend trying that with Ryanair

Not sure... would travel insurance intervene if you asked for a ticket in the wrong name?

Probably!

OK, I know they are technically monkeys. But everyone calls them apes.

why don't you ask Air France?
Air France said only Ebookers could make the change. Ebookers said Air France refused to make the change. This is why I only want to deal direct in the future, or through a travel agent I know and have a working relationship with.

I get the impression that the fix could have been done but neither party wanted the hassle or cost. Fine. Now I know where I stand with Ebookers and Air France and what they consider good business practices.

Re: Beware Ebookers

Been using Ebookers.ch for years...and almost always bought the travel insurance, which they offer through AIG.

First time to make a claim, due to a family death, and am trying to fill out the insurance forms, which are lengthy. Between AIG and ebookers, I have now lost hours and they have charged me a 400chf Stornierungsgebühr. (cancellation fee)

Jeez...not sure it is all worth it for a 640.84 chf ticket.....

Am I daft or has someone else had this experience?
