Neighbours forever clopping overhead

There's this familly, mum dad and young boy, called Billy. They are a nice enough family but they need to walk over the floor above my bedroom to get to their kitchen. This is not normally a problem but they appear to wear heels or something because it's trip-trop, trip-trop all the time. It's worse when I'm trying to sleep in.
Now I've tried to be a good neighbour, no passive-aggressive notes, I go up and talk to them everytime. Whilst I try to be calm the lack of sleep may have caused me to be a bit short. I don't think I actually threatened them like they say I did, I mean, even really sleep deprived I don't think I'd threaten to eat someone...
Is there a way to deal with this situation, or do I have to follow through and eat Billy the next time he trip-trops overhead?

If it's outside of quiet hours then you just have to live with it.

Sorry, are you saying that they're accusing you of threatening them?

I thought I would try trolling.... I'm not very good I guess if I'm called out at the third reply. Sigh.

No, dummy, it's a kid.

Anyway, you bring the kid, I have the smoker.

I usually do one for Easter.

Re: Neighbours forever clopping overhead

My daughter is two. Most of the days around 21-22 pm she deciedes she wants to wear mamma sandals and walk around a bit .... We do catch her within the first few steps ....but I can tell you she never understands it however much we tell her :-)
The neighbours below seem to have no problems as I do keep asking them every few weeks- they have a 6 month old and they understand it..when their baby was still in utero - they apparently loved to hear my daughter (then 14-18 month old and newly learnt to walk and run) run and jump....I have never seen anyone so happy that my daughter can run and jump and believe me , she really jumps....
And yes I do understand how you feel...
I think you should have nice chat with the mom when you are in a good mood ....

I failed at the thread title. I read "Neighbours forever chopping overhead".

In the time it took the page to load I was trying to imagine them wielding an axe on the balcony or something equally weird.

Re: Neighbours forever clopping overhead

Are they making the noise outside of the "permitted noise hours"? (Not sure how to phrase that). e.g. after 22:00? Here in the canton of Zurich, I believe there is a law that you're not supposed to make noise (enough for your neighbors to hear) between 22:00 and 7:00 -- something like that.

Anyways, I feel your pain...

We live below a family with three children. Their youngest boy apparently has not yet learned how to walk without stomping his feet. It dumbfounds me that I can NOT hear his 200+ pound father walking around up there, but I am forced to revolve my sleep schedule around their stomping seven-year old. (His father is home alone all day while the kids are at school. That's how I know that he's not the one making the noise). And to top it off, they have no rugs in their entire house because the father is allergic.

I would ask if the kid is wearing shoes in the house. Some house slippers can even make a lot of noise on hardwood floors, if they have heavy soles.

If it continues to bother your sleep, you might want to consider getting a white-noise machine. I use one, and it does help drown out some of the noise from upstairs. Good luck.

Indeed.
Also, they are very proud of being particularly hirsute and always mention it. Quite of-putting when I'm trying to ignore the mothers facial hair problem for her to refer to her chin hair.

Edits. Opps, no, that's my other neighbours who never invite me inside their house, no matter how much I ask, I mean, I'm only worried about their structural integrity..... And with reason I might add.
