AliExpress

Internet is full of opposite opinions about this service. Does anybody have some experience ? Can you share ? I myself did some purchased from sunsky-online and it works like a charm, but AliExpress is cheaper and have more choice. What i found strange that AliExpress does not accept PayPal, I wander why.

Thanks
Rustem

Re: AliExpress

And they ask full informations of your credit card and event bank statement. Because of that, I refused to sign up.

No, they only ask credit cards details as any other online shop.

Re: AliExpress

Hi. I don't know how deliveries in Switzerland work, but a lot of people purchase from Aliexpress in Argentina (where I reside now) and they all received their purchases on time and without any problems. I understand that if you have any problem with the purchased items, they send you a replacement.

Re: AliExpress

Living in Spain at the moment and using Ali for a lot of things with very good results... but be really aware at the moment of making your pourchase of all the details of the product... a good one is that they reimborse you the money if the item never arrives... but takes a lot of time ( a month maybe less)

Re: AliExpress

I ordered some mobile phone accessories in Nov last year. Promised free delivery to Switzerland in 30 days but most items were recieved in under 15 days. Each item came separately, one was priced at 5 CHF and It came on its own and properly packed at that.
Unlike DX.com where DX is seller for everything, Aliexpress is a marketplace where your orders are placed through AliExpress but served by multiple sellers u can choose from. Take time to review the seller ratings, reputation and customer feedbacks when choosing.

They can do it in case there is any doubt about credit card, for example its billing address is different from address you are trying to ship to.

Re: AliExpress

I have purchased some cheap (less than 10CHF) items from them. Quality is not perfect, but it usually works. Delivery time is long (at least two weeks). And one time I received a broken item and they returned the money. All this put together, I think we can consider them more or less as a reasonable replacement to Amazon (which is not available in CH).

Re: AliExpress

I buy a lot from aliexpress from Switzerland and everything depends on the specific seller you are buying from (there are really a lot inside this website service) I got really good and fast services from some and really crapy slow service from others (you just need to pay attention to the conditions and always denunce if there is a delay or whatever, they return your money without a problem if you do it on time)

If you have more questions about it, let me know, I buy almost every month (it's soooo cheap )

Re: AliExpress

How much must cost the package for not to pay taxes?
It is a máximum amount of shippings per year?
I want to buy party supplies from aliexpress, but I do not want to have problems or pay import taxes.
Thanks

I think you'll find that it's a typo misprint and should read A-I-L Express and concerns mail order garlic.

Re: AliExpress

Worked fine for me each time i've used it.
It's just like eBay, you are buying from individual sellers so your experience may vary from seller to seller. And again like eBay there is a degree of safety in case things go wrong (although i never tried that).

Remember of course that sellers are in 99% likely to be in China so you are going to wait around a month for your stuff to arrive.

Re: AliExpress

I recently discovered Aliexpress, must admit it is very cheap and sometimes I find that many fashion online shops (with higher margin) sell the same items.. so it is useful first to check if they have it lol .

Anyhow, I noticed in the payments there is a processing fee of 1.7%. I usually pay with a visa credit card. Are you charged the same amount or you use another payment method?

Cheers

What about Swiss customs taxes?
Plus, who is delivering the parcel(s): Swiss Post or DHL? From my personal experience, i know that DHL is more scrupulous with customs taxes than Swiss Post.
Thank you very much,

Re: AliExpress

With extra payment you can have it delivered by DHL, otherwise it goes via normal post.

I have not paid customs so far, at least no bill has reached me. I usually order small stupid things with value of less than 5$ Their website, however, says "Import duties, taxes or other customs charges will be collected by the shipping company upon delivery" and no doubt it depends on the value you order..

The same as if you were ordering from the EU, the value of goods, plus shipping costs, must be less than SFr 62,- to be free of Swiss tax.

The actual figure is, an item making less than SFr 5.- taxation (8% tax on Fr 62 is = Fr 4.96 )
