I think the moral of the story Blowchick, is that flirtation cannot be simply defined and there are many different actions that constitute flirtation, many of which have been demonstrated in this thread. Anyhoo, back on topic. Some people take any attention from the opposite sex and think it flirting even when it very well may not be. I think some people confuse polite conversation with actual interest in them. Flirting, when both parties are involved in it, kinda gives you a little adrenaline rush feeling, or warm fuzziness or something.

I am surprised that Sleazy Nigel hasn't lent the benefit of his wisdom in respect of the art of seduction to this thread.

This is not from Sleazy Nigel but I'll post this for your consideration ( And surely for DaveA's delight )
Actually a friend of mine has a lot of success, if you can measure success by the number of women he takes home.
His technique is simple. He goes to the party and have a great time, dancing, drinking, joking etc.
He identifies the victim. He goes to her, dance with her, have fun, "bust her balls" ( that is make fun out of her ), make her laugh a lot.
Then the next times he see her at the parties, he just ignore her. just say hello to her and then go have fun with others, he does this until the girl shows her fustration. "why he doensn't give me attention anymore ?".
He does this for some times, and finally one day he goes back to her and attacks.... needless to say the girl falls in the trap.
Women need the attention, when they see they got it and then they lost it it creates a crave for attention form this particular guy.
He has many notches in his gun handle with this method, for sure. And he is not a handsome rich guy, just a normal one.
