The french railway engineering fail generated a lot of sarcasm on SNCF well known for their recurrent and lengthy strikes.

It's not just the French - when I first got here the ZVV were busy laying new tracks at Bahnhofquai just shortly after they'd re-layed then. The reason was that nobody realised that the new Cobra trams couldn't pass each on the bend entering the tramstop without scraping each other.

Mind you it is a considerable screw up by the French, one that not just a few Brits will experience a bit of Schadenfreude over
