35 Victims of Bill Cosby

The New York magazine is publishing stories of 35 rape victims of Bill Cosby, a trial by journalism, as he hasn't yet been charged with any crime,

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-33673593

Quote: "Recently released court documents from a 2005 civil case with Andrea Constand - who does not appear in New York magazine - show he had admitted obtaining sedatives to give to women before sex."

Cosby's private plane is a Pilatus PC-12. There just had to be a Swiss-connection:

Certainly is a trial by media as the only possible charge at the moment concerns Andrea Constand, who having the allegations previously investigated and dropped in 2005, then sued him and settled for an undisclosed sum. Guess the money ran out.

Bill Cosby sexual assault retrial to begin in Pennsylvania

Must say am sceptical about the accuser, given first two paras here and the year it took her to report the alleged crime:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea...s_and_lawsuits

"In January 2004, Constand went over to Cosby's house in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, after a night out with friends.[3] According to Constand, Cosby gave her pills to relax;[3] they made her semi-conscious and unable to move. Then, Cosby allegedly touched her breasts and crotch and put her hand on his penis.[3] She further claimed that she woke up around 4 a.m. to find her clothing all over the room.[3]

Constand returned to Canada in April 2004. However, she continued to have some contact with Cosby and allegedly took her parents to meet Cosby at an August 2004 show.[3]"

If she was the first to come forward but is unreliable, it stands to reason that anyone saying "me too" about him is also unreliable, no matter the numbers. Can't help but wonder how much the accusations owe to the "black man rapes white woman" mythology of the old South (and perhaps north too) and an underlying idea that a black man, even one as successful as Cosby, would need to incapacitate a white (or passing as white) woman without her knowledge for her to consent to sex with him.

Re: 35 Victims of Bill Cosby

Hello Bill, these are my parents, and mum and dad meet Bill Cosby, he raped me but that does not matter I guess, we are still good friends, glad you could meet..

I absolutely fail to believe such, to me she's just in it for the money.

Um, you seem to be ignoring the fact that Bill Cosby has admitted, himself, under oath in a court of law, that he bought (illegal drug) quaaludes with the specific intent of drugging young women so that he could have sex with them, and also admitted to having given the drugs to at least one woman.

but hey, hey, hey - it must just be the racist system that is stacked against this innocent black man.

On the other hand, I know women (and men) who willingly took quaaludes as apperently it intensifies the sexual experience, and was especially popular at orgies.

So I've been told.

Assuming you speak about Theresa Serignese, it has to be said the she admitted to have taken the drugs voluntarily knowing what it was. These drugs were a normal common recreational drug in the 70's, and some of the English people here might still remember them as mandrakes.

Also he never admitted to having bought them to give them to woman who did not want to take them.

WTActualF?

It stands to reason? Countless victims of sexual assault take a long time to come forward. Lots never do. They fear, amongst other things, ridicule and not being taken seriously.

Double yuck.

Re: 35 Victims of Bill Cosby

Yes, it is logical that if the first person to accuse someone is lying anyone subsequently accusing them of the same thing must also be lying, in the same way as if someone writes a bad piece of homework and five other people later provide the same answers they too will have written a bad piece of homework. But if the first person is telling the truth anyone coming later with the same story could be telling the truth or not.

It seems logical to me. If the first story is a lie how can copycat stories be anything other than a lie?

I'm not sure it's that simple. The people who come out after the liar could still be genuine but have the guts to come out (not knowing the first one was lying) because of her. But their cases - for the reason you mentioned - will be difficult.

The story of the first one doesn't sound right. She was an adult when she introduced Cosby to her parents, right? You may not want to come forward but you definitely don't introduce your family to a rapist?! And she was not professionally dependent on him when what ever supposed to have happened has happened, right? At his place, btw.

Also they couldn't come to a verdict the first time round. So he's either innocent or there is insufficient evidence.

I would be very sad if he were guilty. I was a great fan of his, the books mainly, I think I got them all somehwere. I mean why would he need this kind of sh***, he didn't seem to be a guy who has no chance with woman.
I will wait for the court case and it's outcome until I believe anything - good or bad - but I admit, I did not like his gig someone linked further up. Even if innocent - no need to make fun of the subject.

But one thing us woman seriously need to remember - or to learn in some cases maybe - we are responsible of ourselves. We can't just follow our needs and momentary desires, then turn around later and say "I didn't really want that". Why do people expect guys to maintain more control than woman?
The story the other woman told about Aziz Ansari was a whole load of BS to me. What am I doing in a guys flat, fullfilling all kinds of needs of his if I'm not interested?!
Don't follow your libido if you're not ready to admit you got one. That goes for men and woman.

Go on, groan
