So it appears that the new Top Gear team has as much an affinity for getting into trouble as the old team ... http://www.theguardian.com/media/201...c-matt-leblanc |

Chris Evans says he's mortified. Come on Chris, control freak that you are, don't deny you knew exactly what they planned to do. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35802386 |

The old trio's new show is going to be called "The Grand Tour". http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36267294
Perhaps it would have been better calling it "The 3 Goons in Cars Tour". |

Not sure about Chris Evans but though Matt LeBlanc was pretty good. Chuckled when Sabine made the top gun pilot sick!

It was all a bit awkward and not sure of itself, and there wasn't really that much content. | Quote: | | | | | Well I liked it.
Matt LeBlanc, what's not to like? | | | | | er... Matt LeBlanc?
It was all a bit too much of a celebrity love-in.

I thought Mattard Le Hammond was pretty good.
Chrisemy Evanson creativity went as far as "what would TG be like if I made it like TGIF?" and "Hmmmm rallycross is fashionable - lets do that with celebrities"
The Nomad thing was the best segment - but even that was a little bit thin on the car stuff. And that Blackpool segment was garbage - I could have seen the old guys really going to town on the technical differences between the Willy and LR and adding car-ness to the show
It took May, Hammond and Clarkson a long time to build the chemistry and deliver effortless cocking about - Evans is trying to do that from day 1.
There was nothing done last night which I felt was done better that it was before.

Matt was good, mini as a reasonably priced car was surprising (maybe some sponsorship behind it) didn't like the cross-rally thing
Chris Evans seems a nice guy but not the Alpha Male type, and a bit to over-hyped. he seemed to be on something, he was shouting for everything
Some of the text seemed a bit more scripted then the old one. Like the g-string comment.
I don't see the Chemistry Chris + Matt, if you look at them you would never think they would hang out together. But it may take a couple of seasons to develop. They should just not try to mirror the old trio and let them develop.
I wish the 5th Gear crew would get a Top-Gear budget they are also good.

Doesn't seem to have gone down that well. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36409946
But still, as pointed out it took a year for the previous Top Gear to get it right. So maybe they just need more time. Then again, maybe not. |

Do Matt le Blanc and Chris Evans have any engineering/technical ability?

I think I must be on another planet - I've just realised that I have no idea what Chris Evans sounds like either talking or shouting having never heard him on the radio or a TV.
