Probably worth posting this link here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a6777846.html
The only reason I remember reading the article last year was because I had the opportunity to try it when in Ecuador a few years ago but declined. From what I remember, those in our group who did try it were generally OK, but a couple were pretty sick during/afterwards. Personally, taking untested psycho-active chemicals seems foolish to me.

I would just say that its more the pretentiousness of taking part in an Ayahuasca ceremony by pseudo hippie shamans that bothers me more then the actual legality or psychological dangers of psychedelics. I think if you are an anthropologist or studying the chemical properties go ahead and do it, but kids doing it because they think its cool to try everything or are looking for some sort of spiritual enlightenment should probably not do these things, they should stick to their Deep Forest CDs. |

Let me get this straight: Getting stoned is now being done with a bunch of strangers in a seminar - sold as a workshop for spirit cure? |

| | Re: Ayahuasca | Quote: | | | | | Hello pixi b. I was wondering did you do it with Alberto's international group? I am looking to do ceremonies but with a different person or group in switzerland if you know of any? (by the way ayahuasca is legal in Switzerland.)
For anyone who wants to try this with Alberto's international group i strongly advise against. I done it a few times with different groups and i found Alberto's way of ceremony and product of low quality even though he somehow managed to create a huge following and movement it was really poor in comparison to the shamans and groups i did it with and his rates are way over the top of reasonable pricing. I mean the guy gives you a drink and plays music from a cd player and from time to time chants a few indian words and bangs his maracas and does not partake in the drinking of ayahuasca with you which i have never seen anyone giving it to me and not drinking except him. Also I find his teachings unhealthy, I would not recommend inexperienced people or anyone to listen to his preaching under the influence of ayahuasca!
if anyone knows of anyone else in switzerland who does the ayahuasca ceremonies i would appreciate if you could put me in contact so I can go. I can also advise of shamans in other countries. | | | | | Yeah it was ayahuasca internacional. I found it to be good, although having been to a couple other ceremonies since I can say that it's not the most ideal/authentic. At the time I didn't really know better and it seemed like a good place to start. I still had a good experience. It was right for me for that time and place I was at, but...
I've had quite a number of private messages about this and have always said I would recomemdn them. However next time I might be a little more cautious. The groups seems to have changed a lot in the past year it seems like it's going more into a big business or something, the events are more dense (ie. they have multiple events in different locations at the same time; when I did it seemed to be only one place at any one time). Also now they've started doing the frog venom thing, which is way more powerful and it seems a bit irresponsible to offer to newbs and I just think its a bit, woah. So putting this here for anyone who is reading this and might want to PM me! Although if you want further detail i would still be happy to reply to PM
Edit the facilitators at the one I went to did drink too. At least 3 of the 4 did. One of them had to pause before handing out a cup to barf |

I am quite interested in experiencing such ceremony. Anyone knows about those events happening anytime soon? I found one option, with group mentioned above(AI). Not sure if it's pricey since they have whole website going on, or that's what I would have to pay for it anyway.

I just got back from Peru, we did the whole Amazon jungle version! Wow, just wow! Entirely different beast... amazing experience. All of it, not just the medicine. I got insights and understanding in one week that would have taken years of CBT to achieve I’m feeling cleansed and really great |

I can only imagine how profound the experience might have been. I see some not-so-learned comments on the forum about some of these magical plants but I have spent enough time trying to learn about them to have a very clear view. I've been trying to have a psilocybin experience myself (did it in a earlier phase of my life but didn't have the right set or setting). Would be nice to have some experience sharing discussions.

| | Re: Ayahuasca | Quote: | | | | | Who has experienced this?? I did for the first time two weeks ago, here in Switzerland no less!
I am amazed at the profound positive effects it has had on me so far I am now super interested in it and a whole new outlook... Not many people I can relate to though, all my friends have had reactions ranging from highly amused curiosity to seemingly slightly uncomfortable! And none have any experience. Would love to hear from people who have, especially if uou did the whole amazon jungle version! Also would be interested to hear about long term benefits.
Pm me if you would prefer not to say on the thread 😉 | | | | | It sounds good though I have to say I always recommend Heroin in these discussions. Heroin is also fairly safe - usually - and everything is so great when you jab it into your arm that quite often I can’t really tell what’s happening when it wears off. Since I discovered heroin I’ve found I sleep better and view people in a more positive light too. Yes I do mug some of them and I have had a few arrests since I started on skag for shoplifting and robbery but I can honestly say it’s great.
Try it, what’s the worst that could happen ?
