Man dancing on the street, with two skeletons.

Note that in this clever variation of this act, this man manages to rotates of the puppets.
I just love what ideas people come up with. And there is still always something new - even in these times. Cheers for that, doropfiz.

Re: Let's have a thread for Dance Videos

When I was a kid, somebody at our public tv loved either Ravel's Bolero or Maya Plisetskaya, or both. I have seen it over and over again and still love it. (I used to dance my own Bolero, Maurice Bejart would have been envious )

Re: Let's have a thread for Dance Videos

Maurice Ravel (born 1875, died 1937) composed Bolero in 1928, aged 53.
During his lifetime, he was engaged in disputes about the tempo of this piece, finding that others played it too fast.

In 1934, six years after Ravel’s death,
Wesley Ruggles used a fast version in his musical drama film, called Bolero,
starring Carole Lombard and George Raft.
Note the round platform on which they are dancing.

In 1960, Maurice Béjart, French choreographer (born 1927, died 2007, aged 33 in 1960 – though he looks much older in the video) created a dance to Maurice Ravel’s Bolero, especially for the Croatian ballerina Duska (Dušanka) Sifnios (born 1933, died 2016, aged 28 in this dance).

https://youtu.be/bflVYdssyAc
Twenty years later, Béjart later re-worked the dance (again on a round platform) with a considerably slower start, for Jorge Donn, Argentinian dancer (born 1947, died 1992 in Switzerland).

Donn was 34 when he danced in Claude Lelouch’s multi-language film Les Uns es les Autres (1981), known in English as Bolero (not to be confused with a completely different film of the same name starring Bo Derek). The film depicts the decades of world history before, during and after World War II, told as the narratives three generations of four families.

As one of the students said:

"People think we don't get out like everyone else on Friday nights. But we do!"

If Carlton wasn't enough proof, here is the the ultimate TV show demonstrating that dancing puts a buzz in the room and a smile on everyone’s face.

you knows I love this thread of yours but I seriously missed that buzz you mentioned here.
It was more like "okay, if we have to .... "

Exactly! No buzz. They all look so coerced.
But mercy, please... I mean, what possible dance video could ever be worthly to follow Alfonso Ribeiro doing the Carlton? It's as if after HIS buzz the thread itself needed something dull, so that everything from here on would begin to climb out of greyness, again.

Julie Andrews and Gene Kelly - Just In Time
On the from "The Julie Andrews Show" 1965.

She was aged 30 at the time, he 53.
As YouTube User Brian Turner so well expressed it, in his comment: “Kelly is just good enough a singer not to be intimidated by the purity of Andrews voice. Andrews is just good enough a dancer, not to be intimidated by the grace of Kelly's steps. It works.“
