Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

Well it is over now......and the last proper Matriarch of Albert Square has gone to the great Pub in the sky....or so.

Was smiling at Grant and Phil.....no 5 minutes in the same room and threats and fists were flying back and forth......like old times really.
Grant will be back later, for a longer stint in the year.

Another thing I learnt yesterday, the blackbird singing in the tree, was in reference to Barbara Windsor's Autobiography ......"The Laughter and Tears of a Cockney Sparrow"......this puzzled me while watching the episode, because Peggy was not known for (any) dulcet tones, and my friend from the FB group enlightened us with this tidbit.

I was really happy to see the most fashionable earrings, ever gracing the Square with their presence, again for that short stint......and to myself I thought ; it would've been great if Pauline Fowler also would've made an appearance (of course not possible because Wendy Richard died some years ago) ...but just the thought of the Triple P reunited, on their way to the pearly gates and teach St.Peter a thing or two , cheered me up!!

I cried my eye's out. My mum died of a brain tumour only her doctor kept telling her it was all in her head! So she got no treatment, no respect and when we paid for a private scan died within 16 day's.

What did Jane just say??? She's just woken up and is whispering. I played her last line back a few times and still didn't get further than "Ian...."
Speak up woman!

Speak up woman!
Jane; 'Bobby'. Then she says 'Can't move'.
Ian touches her hand and asks if she can feel it. 'She replies 'Hardly'.
Then Ian rattles on about the doctors saying it'll take a while for the feeling to come back and Jane asks 'How long'?
Ian' I don't know, soon'. Long pause... 'It'll be okay love, I promise'.
Then, Jane's line that I think you're having trouble with; 'Ian, what if this is it?'.

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

...and it is all over now anyway........between Ian and Jane anyway

Cruel twist for Jane, two boys in a way related assimilated to Ian hurt her so much....

Steven who shot her and thus she is unable to have kids of her own (tho' not biologically Ian's son, Cindy had him believe it for yonks that he was the father, actually it was Wicksy)

And Bobby, the son of Laura Beale, whom Jane adopted legally as hers, now apparently made her a quadriplegic and put her in a wheelchair forever.....

I am actually glad that the whole Bobby thing is coming to an end now, tho' my gut feeling says, in about 8-10 years he'll re-emerge as a kind of Nick Cotton mark 2

Hoping DI Keeble and DI Marsden will now have a field day to bring lots of ppl to justice about Lucy's murder and withholding information etc etc

(and maybe then the casting director will cast actual actors and the new producer be behind some not so tedious story lines)

Anybody else realised that both Branning girls will now have dated bi-guys?

@i-b-deborah, switch on subs..and you won't miss anything ever I can only watch with subs on, they are a blessing in disguise for me.

Oh dear, I'm still behind - Peggy only just returned - I tried to catch up yesterday and fell asleep, dreaming happily on the sofa for 11 hours!
Yet this thread keeps me from just deleting the past month from zattoo as it seems finally something happend. LOL

LOL, glad top be of service ...yes for once quite a lot is happening...

I sometimes feel like that proverb about the buses......you're waiting for one and then two come along, in that way I feel almost overindulged by EE at the moment .......I wonder how long it lasts. Soon the new producer will take over and I am certain there will be changes.

Have I totally missed the funeral, or is Peggy still rotting in a box somewhere?

Been wondering about that myself.... although it's not that unusual in the UK for a funeral to take place two or three weeks after death; even longer if there's suspicious circumstances.
Odd that no-one at all seems to have mentioned it though, the Mitchells seem more obsessed with their petty squabbles and planning trips to Portugal than sorting out what should be a big funeral. And I'd have expected Dot at the very least to be making a fuss about getting the ceremony absolutely right.
Perhaps they're waiting until Bobby's got his comeuppance and Ian has a few spare minutes to do the catering (in the Queen Vic, bien sur)?

Hopefully they'll wait now until I'm back from visiting OH in Copenhagen!

No no you haven't, it is still to come ....

In EE time only a few days have passed now....only just about a week yet since her passing.

Don't forget, due to the Footie EM there are a few shedule changes.

Also just learnt today.....he, he, two of my fave things in one.......Big Mo (Laila Morse ) and Ricckkaaayyyyyyyyyy (Sid Owen) will take part in Celebrity Masterchef starting June 22nd

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

It is coming now....Peggy's funeral that is.

Her body was finally released by the authorities and the funeral will now take place in the upcoming episodes.

Grant, won't take part and from my mate's FB group, I know he already finished filming his stint on EE.

Unfortunately, for the next few weeks I will also have to endure the sight of one Daniella Westbrook as Sam Mitchell....... a total mistake of the casting dept!! Kim Medcalfe would've been a much better choice.

Peggy will have a 'proper' East End Funeral, horse drawn hearse and all the trimmings, I would bet that a fisticuff will also ensue....Peggy needs to go out with a 'bang'.

Isn't one of the things about EastEnders that the actors keep coming back over decades? Why would you prefer an actor to be replaced, Daniella Wetbrook is the original Sam Mitchell, isn't she?

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

She is and was curley, you are right, but it turned out the Kim Medcalfe who played the role of Sam , was simply a better actress and made the role of Sam Mitchell her own and was very good at it.

Did you know that the role of Peggy Mitchell , wasn't at first played by Babs Windsor, who also did a better job of playing the Muvver of Filth and Grunt and was a great East End landlady??

No I didn't but she must have played it since the ninties, I don't rememberr any other Peggy .....

I don't want to be rude (I learnt this one in the Brexit-thread) but I got the impression, EastEnders is not about great actors but about familiar faces reappearing over decades, making the audience feel like coming home (which kind of works).

Well

the new producer of EE (the soap, not me ) has taken over and is already doing his best to put me off it !! HMMPPFF!

Too many lose ends with already existing storylines, illogical story developments.....out of the blue stuff, shown once and not followed up and no reason to/behind it.

One solace I have, to look forward to is, Dear Brother Grunt, will be appearing shortly again for a few weeks.

I haven't got time for EE. Netflix has connected wires to my eyeballs, and rewired my brain; so I'm stuck watching Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, Modern Family, Marco Polo, etc etc.

I just wish I'd thought of putting a bet on the supposedly shock ending of yesterday's episode. Spotted that one coming days ago.

Of course it'll will give Phil an excuse to go ape at the people who made the mistake. Understandable really.... who on earth would have their own name tattoo on their ring finger???

Exactly!!!! WTF just happened?

I thought I must have somehow missed a whole week after that bombshell last night. Maybe there will be a great back story that will be revealed in time. Or did that guy just piss everyone off and have to be killed off?

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

Indeed Anjela indeed, let's have a wager next time and the whole thing stinks to the high heavens.....also the phone thing....who nowadays isn't protecting their phone with a PIN code or so....in RL Police would need much longer to crack a phone to make a a phone call to a relative......the tattoo stuff is bonkers as well.....just out of the blue they decided to get that and cememnt their relationship this way....considering up to a few days ago Ben didn't want to be seen publicly hugging Paul or some such thing

I actually don't think Filthy Phil will go apeshit about that, he is too weak at the moment due to his liver problems.

One thing, I was thinking about is, a few days ago Pauls Mum was introduced to the storyline concerning this family......and apparently she has some beef with Pam Coker.

Maybe she used to be a druggie or was mentally unstable and Pam used this against her to take Paul and move away.....and we know that Pam Coker withheld the letters she sent to her son .......so maybe she presented herself as his mum,out of our eyesight. A thing sort of............. now you are mine and no one else can have you (she had that crazy look about her....) a kerfuffle ensues, loads of shoving around and same as with Heather an accident happens.

Where is Ben in all this??

Or with all the crazy stuff going on at the moment in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some gay bashing....sort of proving Ben right why he didn't want to hug and kiss in public.

Or Aunt Babe has gone totally bonkers, because she didn't get her blackmailed money...

Nope, i-b-debora, actually Paul Coker was quite a nice guy....let's see what happens next....
