I thought I must have somehow missed a whole week after that bombshell last night. Maybe there will be a great back story that will be revealed in time. Or did that guy just piss everyone off and have to be killed off? | | | | | The Guild of Funeral Directors possibly objecting to two amateurs simply taking over an established undertakers business when they have absolutely no qualifications to run it?
I remember Paul occasionally doing make-up on corpses as a favour to his gran who was too busy to do it herself, and it was implied that he'd done it before, but there's been no mention of him doing anything formally for the company and I'm pretty certain it's a controlled job, you need do do college courses and so on, it's not one you can just start dabbling in because you fancy having a go.... already odd the Billy has been able to swan in and be in charge of things so easily.
I agree with EE, the whole programme is getting very messy. There are too many loose ends, storylines that start and simply fizzle out/drag on forever, unlikely characters appearing from an unexplained past; Jack and Sam having a child that he didn't know about? If that's true then it's about time that bloke paid more attention to what he does of an evening!
Although, is there anyone left who's not done the rounds of the entire Square (apart from the sainted Dot)?

On the 'where is Ben' thing.... someone was heard coming into the Cokers place late at night, and Les left a mug of tea outside the room the following morning.
I think it's Ben, possibly sleeping off a hangover, wondering if he's lost his temper again and lashed out but forgotten?
Or Paul's mother, good call EE. Shocked to discover her son is gay?
Suppose we'll find out eventually, just wonder what silly twist the writers will come up with next.
Personally I wish someone would bump off Buster and Kathy!

I never knew about someone coming back to the Cokers, as I watch it without sound and only the subs tell me what's going on......
But I totally agree with you about ....and I think it is time to bring back a good old fashioned matriarch alike Pauline, Peggy and Pat were...or even better Lou Beale to keep them in check on the square.
oh and btw Anjela....in regards to kids their dad's don't have a clue about.....you know 'chelle had a son, Mark jun...by Grant...of which he doesn't know either...and now ominously Sharon read a letter ( initally adressed tpo Peggy) and jetted off to Florida to see her old pal.
My guess is, Shazza will come back with that boy in tow..for some reason or other. Susan Tully will never ever reprise the role of 'chelle, but who says she can't be recast like so many others?

I know Sharon's mother was in America but that doesn't explain Michelle going there too. A lot of people seem to know about that kid though, but does Grunt?
Yes, Shazza's going to drag the boy back, but why? Do we really need yet another young lad turning up who's bound to have 'problems'.... unless Abie and co need a new 'bit on the side' that they're not at least vaguely related to. | Quote: | | | | | I don't, nor do most people I know.
Tom | | | | | Nor me, I be constantly locking myself out of the stupid thing otherwise!
Same with the computers....
The only person I can think of that does use a PIN on his 'phone is my OH; he insists it was imposed on him by the 'phone itself, but I'm not sure I believe him.
If he's hiding something I'll find out eventually, I always do.

| | Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is | Quote: | | | | | Indeed Anjela indeed, let's have a wager next time and the whole thing stinks to the high heavens.....also the phone thing....who nowadays isn't protecting their phone with a PIN code or so....in RL Police would need much longer to crack a phone to make a a phone call to a relative......the tattoo stuff is bonkers as well.....just out of the blue they decided to get that and cememnt their relationship this way....considering up to a few days ago Ben didn't want to be seen publicly hugging Paul or some such thing
I actually don't think Filthy Phil will go apeshit about that, he is too weak at the moment due to his liver problems.
One thing, I was thinking about is, a few days ago Pauls Mum was introduced to the storyline concerning this family......and apparently she has some beef with Pam Coker.
Maybe she used to be a druggie or was mentally unstable and Pam used this against her to take Paul and move away.....and we know that Pam Coker withheld the letters she sent to her son .......so maybe she presented herself as his mum,out of our eyesight. A thing sort of............. now you are mine and no one else can have you (she had that crazy look about her....) a kerfuffle ensues, loads of shoving around and same as with Heather an accident happens.
Where is Ben in all this??
Or with all the crazy stuff going on at the moment in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some gay bashing....sort of proving Ben right why he didn't want to hug and kiss in public.
Or Aunt Babe has gone totally bonkers, because she didn't get her blackmailed money...
Nope, i-b-debora, actually Paul Coker was quite a nice guy....let's see what happens next.... | | | | | oh dear, you just reminded me that 26 episodes are waiting for me in zattoo-storage ...... and your post did not help in a sense that I could delete a few |

Who else got a déjà-vu experience yesterday??
Naahhhh, don't mean Grant......
EE's Casting Dept. did well in casting Courtney, she does look like a Mini Tiffany, looking forward to have another Mitchell on the Square and hope storylines will improve......
But this Ronnie /Andy thing is tedious now.

Sort-of makes sense for Courtney to turn up I suppose, let's hope she's less of an irritation than most of the characters introduced recently!
The Ronnie/Andy storyline is just plain daft. Still not totally sure who he's meant to be (I was away last week and forgot to programme the dvd recorder), clearly a pseudo-brother to Danielle. Foster brother or half-brother maybe???
Why Ronnie's continuing to have him in the house, let alone trust him with the children after his previous lies, disappearances, and odd behaviour is simply bizzare.

Love myself a bit of Jim Shelley....Shazza as Marilyn Monroe of the East End...oh yes...now I've heard it all
Too bad one can spot from 1mile against wind and fog, that Grunt is only after getting back at Filth.....nothing else.

Grin, right you are
Only with that boy of Kat we know he went to be adopted by a family in Ireland and Andy grew up in Telford.
A propos, "Redwater" the spin off EE series, about that search ...will air early next year

New (producer) brooms and all that jazz, there is quite a cull ahead....
So far, Ronnie, Roxy and Jay from the Mitchell clan will be written out in the next few months.
The Carters will lose Buster and if my mind works right, Linda, will also leave...

Well keep you reyes peeled , Grunt is about to come back for another short stint.
He will be his usual charming, smiling Softie-self obviously!
Denise up the duff duff duff duff...well well who saw THAT coming??
You'll hear me laughing from Geneva to Zurich, if it turns out to be Phil's...the sexiest man on the Square!
Didn't you know that?
If this will be the case, Denise and Phil and their one night stand, forgive me for thinking he wants to singlehandedly ensure that there will be a few actors left after the recent cull of the new producer and that EE may go on and on and on. Isn't he a hero??
The upcoming storylines look quite a bit better than they have in the recent past
And in other Soap or TV News......Fletch ...NOOOOOO............I just hope he survives, he is one of my fave characters on Holby City, mainly because many of his struggles as a single father ring so true with me and my life!

I keep missing it; OH insists on Facetiming around nine and I'm often having to record stuff off another channel..... so am reduced to looking up what I've missed on the interweb.
I saw most of Casualty on Saturday with the sound off (had recorded it but decided I just couldn't be bothered to watch it again as I and thought the whole thing way over the top), didn't even bother with Holby....
Anyway, I'll get to see EE tonight as it's on at 19:30 UK time, then it's GBBO, yay!!!!!
No, I mean tomorrow, tonight it Great British Menu, then Bake Off!

Well, I do get my wish for Aunt Babe to leave, but along with her are quite a few other characters being written out or wanting to leave as well now, but it looks to me as if the new producer has a lot to answer for ........ https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...ling-bbc-soap/
Oh, well then I will concentrate on the bopping elf again, as he is the other Eastender responsible for my choosing this nick....some 10 years ago |

Shamlessly stole this from my friends page and is soo true at the moment!!
If Eastenders loses any more cast members it's basically going to be 30 minutes of Tracy and Shrimpy walking lady Di, silently. |

This thread should be renamed as "TV-Soaps and other telly gossip" or some such thing: )
What an episode last night with the Mitchell sisters deaths.....it may sound a bit funny peculiar, but I actually thought the exit was almost artistically done.
I also have to retract my harsh comments about the new producer, I have come to like what he has done , slowing everything down overall and building new storylines also much slower ( NOOO that is not coz I am Bernese )
It was quite nice recently with all the mentions and appearances, if only as voices from the past, of old characters, in particular Ethel, I always liked her.
But the spookiest of all things was Dot finding the mix tape, Heather having created a playlist and of all things talking about George Michael and the next day we learn of his death...spooky (especially since EE is usually filmed about 2-3 month before it airs!)
What do you think of the recent developments?

Thought both sisters drowning a bit far-fetched..... it wouldn't have taken more than a few seconds for Ronnie to get out of that dress if she'd really tried, or for her to at least remove the heavy petticoats.
Apparently there was an alternative ending shown on snapchat (or somesuch site) yesterday that showed Ronnie simply discovering Roxie dead from a drug overdose.
Which would have been a far more likely ending given her recent behaviour.
Suppose we'll now have to sit through yet another couple of lavish East End funerals...... but at least that'll keep Billy in work, having just been robbed of the pleasure of planting Phil!
