Gossip about British Television Shows, Soaps and Series

Many many years back, there were a few members here on EF who enjoyed a good chinwag with me about EE and others talked about their fave soaps and series.....sadly some of these members have left EF by now.

So an EE nut like me of course has to revive/re-start a thread about something so profane as a telly soap......you never know there may be someone who likes to air their thoughts as well.....and this light hearted gossiping may light up the mood and deviate of the daily grind and sometimes bad stuff we all have to deal with.

I for one am very pleased that my fave Brother Grunt is back on our screen (sadly not forever)

Okay, I admit it, I do follow Eastenders. Well I did but lately I just saved it on zattoo .... and now I have 18 (eighteen) episodes to catch up on. That would be 9 hours and the longer I put it off the worse it gets. I don't have laundry to iron for 9 hours .... maybe I just follow this therad and you fill me in?
I got a bit tired of the endless Stacey-story .... but for Grant ... Ross Kemp did some very interesting documentaries btw.

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

The endless Ronnie/Roxy/Jack saga is doing my head in....how long do the script writers want to repeat the same storyline over and over, with just a slight change of circumstances??? I do like the addition of the "Ronnie baby swap scandal" stalker though.

I love a bit of 'stenders when I want to switch off and not concentrate too much

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

WOWZERS.....you just made this old lass very happy with your replies.

I do enjoy a chinwag about EE, and as funny peculiar this may sound, it is the reason for me watching exclusively British telly nowadays.

When I moved 1994 from bedsit to a flat, got cable TV and BBC Prime as it was called then.
Then this channel aired almost everything!! with Subs (the only other European Channels who were Deafie friendly were the French) So first thing i stumbled across on that Channel was EE , humble moi got hooked instantly, there were ppl worse off than me ( YES! I KNOW IT S A SOAP) and the rest is history.

So if you don't mind spoilers:

The special weeks are called LAST ORDERS because Babs Windsor asked for Peggy to be killed off. Bless her, she is 78 now.....but that is nothing compared to June Brown, the beloved Dot who is 89 now!!!!!

So Grant will return certainly next week, but I hear rumours we may be in for a surprise glimpse maybe on Thursday or Friday evening already. SAdly he has signed only for about 3 weeks

Peggy will leave us for the great pub in the sky next week ...... after losing her on-screen battle with cancer.

This is the main reason why Grant is coming back for a while. Unfortunately the BEEB also cast Daniella Westbrook again as Sam Mitchell () not only does she mostly look as if she swallowed a wasp (to cite one of my EE mates) but she can't act her way out of a cardbox either! BLEURGH!

Mimi, I totally agree with you, this has been strung along to almost fraying at the seams now.

And I can't place this stalker guy...he flirts with Stacey as if to push Martin aside and then it turns out he is Ronnie's stalker.....EH? and WHY?

Unless he is Kat's long lost son (which she searches for in Ireland at the moment....but that is another story )

Over and out and thanks for replying to the thread, Ladies

I heard a rumour that Michelle Fowler will also be coming back for a short spell with her son Mark ( who is also Grant's son).

Yup heard that too, tho' unfortunately Susan Tully declined, BUT....there are talks that 'Chelles son with Grant, Mark Jr. could be integrated into the soap now Grant is back for a while.

Wow, I do consider myself updated now - can you do that on monthly bases? Who's the stalker, Stacey's brother who claims to be her sister ... or was it the other way around?

Grant's only in it for a short time, just whilst the Peggy storyline lasts. The original Sam is going to be there as well (Daniella Westbrook) The actress more famous for coke habit.

Re: He's back......my favourite Brother Grimm that is

I also think the stalker is Kat's long lost son. He mentioned he has a sister but didn't mention three brother's though, although he may not be aware of them. Would be weird though if he has managed to track Ronnie down and be aware of Kat's baby boy and not mention him, even if he doesn't know about the twins.

For once EE has me unsure...normally it's so predictable

Can do one better than that

EE is also responsible for my best and longeststanding online friendships with a small group of women,we met on the EE BBC Forum in 1999 and are still close friends today

One of them is so involved that she is pally with some of the actors and DTC ( The producer who just left) and what she doesn't know about EE isn't worth knowing, so all spoilers and such stuff you can find at

Ethel didn't really top herself though, the saintly Dot did! At Ethel's request, but even so....

#2 son's Mini is called Ethel in honour of that character; he says the car can be a little bit flighty and cantankerous, just as she was.

Started taping EE many years ago as a favour for a friend (a real eastender who was stuck in Geneva with three kids, couldn't get BBC Prime and very homesick), must admit I am slightly addicted to it now, despite myself.

That was what i was alluding to.....who'll she'd ask to *help* her, now we know she didn't need any help at all.

Well I liked it. I got caught up in her misty vision and nostalgia, and loved the way Pat came along to take her home.
