Belated congrats from me as well. Grandpa is always good (not only for headaches resulted from hangovers).

Of course pictures like that lead to all kinds of daughter-winding-up-fun with photoshop.

And how is Slammer´s little Slammer´s mini-Slammer a-coming along?
We have 9cm and 95g of grandkid fermenting along, it can turn and kick and grab, all is well.

It's amazing, isn't it? You can even see all the teeth still in the jaw. I'm always astounded at how quickly things develop as a foetus.

I remember seeing the first scan of my son when he was the size of a baked bean and the heart cells were already beating in a rhythm.

I'd give anything to repeat those times, although about 22 years along the line.
Wish you and your daughter (and the Pokemon in the corner) all the happiness in the World.

Have you started making wooden toys yet? If you hurry there would still be enough time to make an heirloom baby bed.

Re: The nine month countdown

20cm and 300g, and half way through, had a big checkup today, all is well, all where it should be, it was hanging from the roof so to speak as snug as a bug in a rug.
And although they know what it is going to be I am going to let myself be surprised, by the way, can I get one of these famous EF-polls here?

I'm with Jag on this. There are some stunning wooden cots designs around. Congratulations Slammer.

When my generation had children I, like my father before me, made footstools. Dad's were scrap wood for material, hand tools only. I used a power drill for the dowels, and old floorboards from the house I was renovating. I hope that my son/daughter will do the same, but that they don't choose a wax finish as I did. Wax really picks up every single bit of dirt and grime and keeps it for posterity.

It doesn't have to be as big a project as a clinker built rowing boat cot or bed, which I also thought about. Something useful that will be around in the house for a long time (both mine and Dad's are still about) is also a good thing. Probably best not to google "fishing boat baby bed" if you're not from a seagoing family (in fact, all the more so if you are).
