Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

For all you (me too) old school gamers out there you might like to know that Nordic Games, who bought the intellectual rights to Titan Quest and Immortal Throne when THQ folded, have updated and released the game for it's 10th anniversary. Better balanced, bugs fixed, a couple of new bosses, heroes, etc, new gear too. It's available on either Steam or GOG, take your choice.

Re: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

A ten year old computer game, from a company wich went bankrupt, can be bought again in alittle bit more modern version from two well known video game online stores.

The game is a hack and slash role playing game

Re: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

Nearly all games these days, even if they have a disc, need to be activated via Steam. You have to install Steam's program and then activate the games there. Or you can buy online versions with no need for a disc.

GOG works in a similar way for the online games, but you don't have to install their system to get the games up and running. They do have their own system, but it's not a requirement - unlike Steam.

Gamersgate.com is another site you can buy games from, but they need Steam to be installed before you can download and play.

And no, I don't speak German. Wish sites would not use location for language choices!

Re: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

If you're looking for "hack and slash" you might also like to look at Titan Quest's spiritual successor Grim Dawn. It's made by some of the people who made TQ and has a great fan forum too.

www.grimdawn.com

Again available from either Steam or GOG.

Re: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

What was really nice was that if you already owned Titanquest on Steam you automatically get the new version for free.
I have been playing it and it is a nice update to the game.

And GOG has Grim dawn on sale right now. Just bought it yesterday. Looks like fun but I only tried it for about 15 minutes.

No, Doom was great fun at the time, nice antidote to a boring job.

Looking for something more challenging rather than just "hack and slash"

Re: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

I think you'll enjoy GD tw44. Although it uses the same game engine as TQ, there have been a lot of changes made so it's pretty different.

I just got the TQ Anniversary Edition, but at the moment it refuses to launch properly or be uninstalled for re-installing. Great work GOG. Just contacted them for info on how to get it working.

Both brilliant RPGs. Finished TQ and TQ:Immortal Throne (Multiple Chars). Got GD on Launchday. Finished it as well.

Ah, but GD isn't finished. New dungeon area coming up and then there's the first expansion to look forward too in the next few months.

Doing better than me then. I've only got 2 toons into Elite difficulty so far and I've been playing the game since Early Access.

It would be even better if I had more time. And no other games to play.

Hi Medea, Yes I am really liking Grim Dawn. Played about an hour. I had some graphics issues, but after I turned down anti aliasing it seems to be stable now.

Hope you can get your Titan Quest running!

Me too tw44. GOG came back with a whole list of things to download and install so I'm crossing fingers it'll work when I've done all that.
