Naughty stash

It's not Friday but almost... do you have a naughty stash? Something you have bought rather excessive amounts of? I'm sure some will say shoes.
I have to admit mine is balls of wool. It's "hidden all over the place. If I open the cupboard door, it falls out.

Your 'naughty' stash is... balls of wool? I don't think I have ever seen a sadder admission.

So you do knit!!!! Why aren't you going along to the Stitch'n'Bitch in town on Wednesdays? MusicChick is usually there and I get there as often as I can (OH is still away so it's tricky. You could even turn up on your pjs.... they won't judge.
I hoard yarn too, and material (especially silks), paper, pencils, glassware, kitchen utensils, china; the list seems endless now I think about it.

Re: Naughty stash

My dad used to have a "naughty stash" in a cupboard in his study. I discovered it purely by chance when I was 10 or 11 .

Re: Naughty stash

Tools, especially taps and dies (I have a bewildering collection, even for a gearhead).

Also fasteners, and bits of material like beryllium copper, gilt foil, Phosphor bronze, Invar, Nichrome wire. (Yes, I suffer from "That might come in handy some day". Quite badly, as a matter of fact.)

Uhmmmmm no - don't get you there Neddy. Went through my entire 'has-been list', but now it's all gone since years e.g:

Photos of exes over the past decades, little silicon dishwasher friendly friends, written-off loans. But sorry - no wool (that's all perfectly categorised in their respective drawer).

I like the idea of silicon dishwasher friends - do they keep the dishwasher company?

Re: Naughty stash

Yes, I do have a naughty stash... wait, what are we talking about again?

I have possibly bought excessive amounts of comics and books. Though, in all honesty, can there ever be an excessive amount of comics or books? I think not...

Both my parents are natural born hoarders, keeping all kinds of crap "because it might be useful some day". I got such a trauma, that anything that doesn't get used in 2 years is sold or thrown out - tools, kitchen crap, clothes.

Except books. Because a book resting for 2 years is just waiting patiently for me to read it again.

Re: Naughty stash

All kind of cookery related books/normal, preferably old, cookbooks from all over the world and old and new kitchen gadgets from the Brocki....

In over 43 years of collecting (most of the international ones were gifts from friends on travels) it amounts to 350 hardbacks....about 170-200 smaller books/booklets....and I am not done collecting yet. Still got a few blank spaces on the world map.
It got so bad that I actually forgot a couple of times, that I had the book I just bought already in my collection, luckily can give them to the my girls (2 trained chefs and 1 baker-confectioner in the making) at between 1.90 .- and 6 CHF for one an affordable vice every once in a blue moon
