Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

EE is one really very happy lass now, and it takes so little to make me happy!

I really have got the best people in my environment!! A dear friend went on the hunt for wild garlic for me this morning in the forest around her home.

Now I can still make my usual preserves (Pesto, Butter, Dumplings and a few more) with it!

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Sooooooo, no one joining Belgianmum and me on Thursday afternoon??

We'll have a good time all the same, mind and of course i will bake something to go with coffee!

Other than that, I think we should ask to change the title of this thread,!!

Any ideas or suggestions bar 'EE's Queen Vickers' or some such silly thing.

I am in desperate need of a laugh and chuckle, to take my mind of a very sad thing.

Come on.... do your worst

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Now if the lady lived somewhere sensible, like just down the street from me, it would be a different matter, but about five hours travelling for one piece of cake... or even two. Ach.

Much as I'd really love to meet EE and brighten up her day (bit of a non sequitur there actually) it is just not on at the moment.

Have a lovely time.

Same problem here.... much as I'd love to meet EE properly (and see BM again) it's simply too far for a slice of cake!

With you in spirit though and am thinking of you, dear EE; although sadly nothing will ease your current pain, it will slowly ease and you'll be able to remember the happier times without hurting so much. I just wish I'd met your friend, she sounds truly lovely.

Geeezzz, 5 hours?? Are you living on a far away mountain top?

That is really sad, I think it would've been an amazing verbal sparring opportunity.... however, I just might be able (as soon as I am propely mobile again) see to get my passport renewed to enter ZH one fine day this year and finally get some of Grumpy's cheeses and posdibly hold an audience fir anyone who wants to meet

Life's definitely too short to miss out on nice things, am determined to do much more, at least as much as my wallet allows me to do within CH

It's the same for me.... nearly an hour to get from my house to the train station by public transport (two buses), then another two hours on the train. So there and back is a good six hours!

Next time I'm visiting #2 son up in Misery-Courtion (probably June or July) I'll try to organise doing that extra distance to see you, maybe we can organise an EF get-together???

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Enjoying (NOT) the last day with this blasted thing!!
The splint on the hand has already gone, it is only required now for walking on crutches, to still take off some of the not-so-feather weight that I am

I hope that the recovery after getting rid of the dastardly thing on the leg, will be much quicker than anything in regards to getting better before.

Been holed up in the flat since 4th of February...and am about to get the pallor of a long term prison inmate, not to mention the emerging mental state akin Jack Torrances' (The Shining anyone??) ......

Looking forward to hop, skip AND gambole again...aye the whump whump whump you'll feel from the reverbrating ground will be me...doing exactly that hereabouts.
Well, not right now or tomorrow, maybe in two weeks time or a tad later on, but you've been warned now and can make your dwellings quake safe.

So that's it from me for the time being and now you can tell me to shut the frig up again

You are on, this is a deal!!

One thing that I have decided now to do (after that shock of the death of my friend) is to worry less about our survival, even if we only eat pasta for a few days, we have eaten, innit??!!

And I am determined to find the courageto go out more and meet up with people, my voluntary hermit days are over.... I am planning for certain to go to ZH once or twice this year to hold an audience there

And you and I, for example, could meet up somewhere in between Misery C. and Bienne...

Poor BM already knows, that there is no avoiding it and will be visited too as soon as I can drive again

#2 son drives near to BM's place every day on his way to work! Mind you it's at silly o'clock in the morning so I'm not planning on cadging a lift to visit....

I might as well get the train all the way to Bienne, there's less risk of me getting lost!

Good luck for tomorrow!!!!!

Just so you all, who read this thread, can morally prepare yourselves...

The thread will be kept going for at least another 4-6 weeks...since i got more house arrest to roughly that amount of time on doctors orders yesterday.

That's all....

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Well, you don't get your sentence shortened for good conduct if you don't behave yourself. I don't suppose you noticed all those little bug cameras which are watching you when you do things you shouldn't.

I dunno. These youngsters. "Take it easy" I say. "Sit quietly and rest that leg" I say. And does she? Of course not. Off to the kitchen to cook cakes for BelgianMum! Making a bit of Bärlauch Pesto. crash, crash, bang, grind. Not a thought given to the foot. Probably a bit of knitting while jiggling the leg up and down.

Sorry about it though. Bad luck. You lose the whole spring like this. Shall I get my son-in-law to show you how to Abseil properly so that you can get up and down the stairs without danger of injury once you have all this behind you?

Oh, lor.....

Have you asked on here for a few internet gardening slaves yet? Bossing them about would keep you amused for a few hours, and planning this year year's planting scheme should take up a few more!

Otherwise, writing indignant letters to the BBC about the current plot-lines in a certain soap might amuse you for a while?

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Hobble hobble....here I am ......the shreddder of sweaters, or at least sleeves of said garment..............
Yep, got my own crochet project now before I can join in for MathNuts coverlet......some people (I won't mention WHO!) shouldn't be let lose on certain office paraphernalia....

Good idea Anjela and then I would add too, after I am over the EE bit obviously....... to please remove the most unfunniest Comedians as well from ever being shown on telly again.....they even make Tim Vine look like a hoot!!
I am talking about Reeves and Mortimer and their, yet again uuunnnfunnyy, stuff during Red Nose Day Show on Friday.

Luckily Mammy Brown put my view on the comedy front on Saturday into balance again.
I know, I know we're not on the UK telly show thread...but if you haven't got much to laugh about during everyday boredom, this is really a very important matter, innit??!!

Libäs Längsbitzli, I solemnly promise to behave from here on to ...eehhhrrrmm.....let's say end of next week?? Would that be ok and suit you??
Knowing my luck I would make a noose out of the abseiling rope anyway and so I think it better to refrain form this kind offer. Thanks all the same for thinking of me. You see, without a Tarzan in the vincinity, this Jane has no use for swinging off the building and other high points such as the top of the wardrobe.

Other than that; I have .... wonders never cease.......accepted my prolonged confinement in my garret and will use the time to translate much more stuff to bore the english Blogreaders to death and we can't have this partiality to english, so I will also equally annoy the SwissGerman readers.
At least I will be out of EF readers hair....or I might just not

Have a good Sunday everyone

Re: Looking for entertainment from YOU ;-P ;-P

Because the Duchess of Grumpyburgh and Cantankertown, her Royal Highness Longbyt isn't on the gargoyle album aka FB and doesn't get the news. .....

.....I am truly sorry to whomever it may concern, but due to that reason, I have to update and revive this thread so that Madam, has at least ONE topic to chit-chat at High Tea with her peers.

I am such a good girl,truly I am!!

Good news at last. Yesterday I went for the first time on my onesome to attend Physio at the hospital. That is no biggie at all for 99,9% of the population. But of course NOT for me, who has to make a song and dance about the smallest, oh so mundane, things!

I managed it quite well, but at a speed.... that a snail even would've got easier flashed by a speed camera, than I was....took me almost 4 times as long to manage the stretch of sidewalk to and fro bus stop than usual.

Luckily, for me I am Bernese and this tempo in everything is allowed, nay mandatory even.
Imagine it was a Zurich based person slowing down so much, they would get laughed into next week and their ZH passport taken away!

Other than that there is not much to report, shopped for stuff to get the balcony allotment ready, will be planting a few seedlingsi into the early beds (YES! they will survive any chills) and sowing out a few of the hardier veggies.

Sharpened my knitting needles and straightened the crochet hook to take part in the new EF-Baby-Blankie project, although my contributions won't look as good as most of the handed in squares did for the first blankie. We've got a few black belts of knittery amongst us, I tip my hat...errhhm no, bun I mean...to you ladies!!

Oi! I suppose it's me you are talking about again. No, I am not on Facebook. Nor twitter. Nor linked-in. I am just here in real EF life.

Glad to hear of your excursion. Things are looking up. Got to do something about that speed though. Can't have you overtaking other Bernese as you
make progress with your journeyings.

I have a few herbs, Mr. L needs them for cooking, and some flowers which I perhaps put into the windowboxes this afternoon after finishing the ironing. Every year I say I will have fewer flowers but then a neighbour will say how much they enjoy seeing them and off I go and get come more. I'll never learn.

High tea was yesterday. Not very 'high' but at least out with a friend. One of the very few chances I get to talk high-speed English. Not that he's a Brit but he understands prestissimo. Well, I think he does. Maybe he's just pretending. Who knows.

No really interesting news from this quarter though. They are digging up one of the main roads again so I have to detour to get in that direction which goes against the grain. My ebike is getting used again when the weather is good, alternating with the roller in the cellar when it rains or is too chilly for cowardly me. We were in the Black Forest last week. There is fantastic run down from SchluchSee towards Häusern. Pity about the 30 kph limit which sadly I never see. Hm Hm Hm. Disc brakes are quite useful. It's a lovely area and at the moment nice and quiet. Any minute now the mobs will arrive and cycling beside the lake will mean much use of the bell!

So, back to the ironing, wench.
Take care.
