| | So How do you avoid seeing 'news' about Trump.
I have so much going on right now, i don't want to see any more Trump rumours and general garbage coming from him, just want to be informed when the next world war starts
How do you detrump
your Facebook
I generally check
the guardian,
independent
ny times
la times
bbc
reuters
news pages.
Why don't they allow you to block all trump news? A few of them are using him to their advantage to stir things up with rumour and conjecture when they are missing facts. the facts are gruesome enough for any rational person though.
Whats your strategy of getting this self serving attention seeking narcissist out of your life?
Is it even a good idea to block the potus and just request 'let me know when the next world war is about to start'?
thanks
Cath

Alternative is for he and the Swiss president to swap jobs, no-one ever talks about her (or even mentions that she is a she )

Don't read newspapers. They are using the bogey man to scare us into buying their rumour comics.

The best way is to head over to Yulin for the BBQ fest!

I'd rather read news about Trump than see these poll threads.

Anyway wine/sps thats for amateurs, i'm stepping my game up and blaming him for wanting to reach for the ketamine every time I read something about him. The news papers are having a field day with him as you'd expect when dealing with a narcissist.
just fyi ya'll I think I found the trump filter app (the one with the funny faqs) worked quite well but i suspect it has no face recognition so pictures of him still appear but the story is hidden. Its surprising though how much 'news' is being generated because most of the page had hidden stories and that was the Guardian. | Quote: | | | | | Tell me more about this omelette you are preparing | | | | | A potusfree omelette of news stories

Stick to the sports pages. It will be easier for you if you don't follow American sports teams.

OK so if find that 'POTUS' means President of the United States.
Surely this thread is simply perpetuating the Trumping??

Taking this thread on a more serious track:
I understand the desire to avoid TrumpNews. I find I can barely watch his pronouncements and press conferences or those of his spokespeople. Reading reputable news sites is difficult enough, clicking on the dross is making me heart-sick. I just want it all to Go Away.
HOWEVER - Now is not the time. As painful as it is to force myself to click, I do. I urge all my fellow Americans not to give in to the tendency to stick our heads in the sand.
I see this happening with many of my friends and family back home. The news is so dispiriting, the feeling of helplessness in the face of this steamroller of ugliness is so overwhelming that it's just easier to pull the covers back over our heads, push it out of our minds, go one about our normal day as long as the next round of awfulness doesn't affect me and mine.
But ignoring the news is not the answer. If fact, I see willfully ignoring what is happening as a sort of complicity. Now more than ever we must remain informed and aware. This is a very, very slippery slope we are careening down; taking our eyes off the ball is how we allow our democracy to be lost.
/rant. Or /sermon, depending on your perspective.

or perhaps reduce the number of news feeds you read?
If the same story is coming in from various sources in your Facebook feed and then 6 other newspapers, you see the same headline 10+ times it becomes more alarming, but at the same time you want to see what else is going on in the world.
I've had to cut sources out of my Facebook page too so I have some 'safe' places I can enjoy news about what interests me, animals environment recycling art history farming science.. but they are being drowned out with the newspapers potusfocus (try saying that after a few beers ) at the moment.
they pretty much all have january sales on now! I wonder if all this potus stuff is causing people to either cancel subscriptions or not want subscription and they have to have a sale or if this is a normal January sales strategy for the newspapers?
I have no interest at all in buying their papers now, whereas the times and the guardian i might have been tempted
