Hang on, Ladies! I did not talk about the pains etc. We all went through that, me only as a teen-ager, some all their lives.
I was talking about excusing moodiness (which very often doesn't happen at the time people claim to be the cause

You said PMS. I see you were refering to moods but it wasn't clear. Anyway, for many women it's not an excuse. And yes, sometimes there were bad moods and crying.

Yes, this thread is supposed to be about men. How's your erectile disfunction today?

Just goes to show you that you can't entirely separate the discussion. One leads to the other and back again.

Re: Fellas. Discuss.i

I've just caught up with the discussion: very interesting, thank you all. I'm pretty much in agreement with all you I reckon:

There is inequality everywhere and there shouldn't be.
Gender is often used as an excuse/stick to beat with and it shouldn't be.
Despite what Harry and Sally deduced, men and women can be friends.
We all do our best every day.
Men and women are very different, thank the gods, or else life would be very boring indeed.
PMS is real and shouldn't be joked about, nor should violence against men or women. Not funny.
South Pacific is an excellent musical. Very independent romantic leads who found each other later in life in difficult circumstances.
Curley, my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I started this thread I just wanted to provoke a different discussion. The male/female registered population split is around 48%/52% isn't it? Or is my data... outdated? Happy to be corrected.

If it helps the gender discussion along any, I've just finished stacking the log store and bashed a bit of fence back into place. Mr Rufus has taken Little Rufus shopping and to walk the dog. I'm doing the dump run later. We're both avoiding the washing up. I still don't iron. At various points yesterday I was wearing a dress and heels and ratty jeans and wellies. Not at the same time, obviously, that would have been a gross sartorial miscalculation.

So, looking at my choice of friends, mates and people I like to work with, my experience with them ..... is it coincidence most of them are male as I like to think?.
Same here. Has nothing to do with some people suffering from PMS..maybe it has to do with how and why we communicate (or not, no need many times) and share (or not, leaving people gladly alone to whatever they need).

I agree that there is a trend in manshaming. Just shows people's weakness.

Re: Fellas. Discuss.

If plotted on a graph, would manshaming be closer to manscaping or mansplaining?

Intriguing.

Right. At my fella's insistance I'm off to wallow in the bath with a book. He's doing something Rugby related. It's all very cosy.

Re: Fellas. Discuss.

Manshaming? Something feminists and their projects seem to take very seriously. I don't think it is just guys who are hurt by it (they might not say, considering what the reaction would be).
