| | Fantasy music festival
Seeing as it’s music festival season, I’ve been giving thought to my fantasy festival line-up. It’s comprised of bands that I have seen or heard (live, tv or radio), not necessarily my fave bands of all time, just ones that I think would make for a fooking awesome time.
2 days, 7 current bands per day. Pick a couple of low profile-ish bands, 2 or 3 medium/older bands and 2 or 3 high profile headliners. Any particular style of music you like
Day one: (appearing first through to headliners)
Lightspeed Champion
Peter, Bjorn & John
The Wombats
The Futureheads
Teenage Fanclub
The Flaming Lips
Pixies
Day two:
Alabama 3
British Sea Power
Supergrass
Flogging Molly
Arcade Fire
The Prodigy
Green Day

I want multi stages, not multi days. The big mega stage has back to back acts like Muse, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc. The small stage stage has back to back bands like Wilco, The National, Marah, Andrew Bird, Teenage Fanclub etc. All the peasants, party people and clueless will be drawn to the mega stage, whilst I and the other sad rock snobs get to enjoy the good stuff on the small stage in peace! |

My quick pick would be:
Kubus (Swiss electronic jazz, not sure if they are still making music)
Alina Orlova
Antony and the Johnsons (although he would probably refuse to play that early)
The National
Madrugada
P.J. Harvey
Nick Cave with The Bad Seeds
7 dollar taxi (Once again let's start from Swiss music scene - these lözärner are fun )
Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa (and once again someone from Central/East Europe)
Yo la tengo (a perfect live band)
Melt Banana
Battles
Mono (need to think something about the order of the bands, Melt Banana - Battles - Mono sequence would sound weird)
The Cure
___
Still I would happily attend Mikebroomers' festival |
