| | PC at US Universities run amok?
Okay... This story/article is so bizarre and disturbing; it boggles the mind. Shame on Sarah Lawrence University for their mismanagement for lack of better terms. No doubt the lawsuits will be forthcoming - that this school could not manage this situation better is unforgivable.
I cannot imagine being one of the parents here. Those poor kids and their parents left adrift. Here is the link: https://www.thecut.com/2019/04/larry....html#comments |

Instead of linking to a 25 page article published almost a year ago, maybe better to provide a summary.

It's an interesting - in a horrifying way - article. Not sure what it has to do with political correctness though. And is only in connection with one US uni, Sarah Lawrence.

That guy is obviously a very dangerous, seriously deranged individual, however, why he hasn't been exposed earlier might have little or nothing to do with PC, rather with a complicated and non-efficient judicial system.

Where were the parents, though...Somebody must have realized and did nothing for a long time. The guy operated his scheme for so long, unconfronted.

Clearly, a parent living with 19 year old freshmen in their dorm suite is a little "off". Yet when families complained to admin at Sarah Lawrence, their response was, "We cannot interfere with parental visitation rights."
What is sad to me is that the daughter managed to collect a group of "friends" with issues and her father preyed upon these young adults and their issues. I think the daughter was culpable as well. Then again, she probably also suffered psychologically with a crazy, creepy father like that.
I would suspect that civil law suits against Sarah Lawrence from the families involved will be forthcoming after the father's indictment.
It is interesting in the US, that parents are typically expected to pay for the child's university tuition but they, the parents have no access to grades or medical records unless the child/student signs a waiver (HiPPA and FERPA).

On the other hand the parents complained to the police too and they got an answer along the line of "well, they're adults and we can't do anything".
But then again, a lot of cults and their "charismatic" leaders went on for long so....as long as the victims themselves don't complain or sue...
