Jet trails in the sky

So many jet trails over Zurich that they block out alot of the suns rays. Can't be good for the environment! They should be forced to cool these exhaust gases before they leave the engine.. The only reason for the trails is the hot exhaust mixing with cold moist air.

https://www.theguardian.com/environm...n-off-the-hook

Ban chem trails! And whether you think its chemicals or harmless water vapor the point is that its pollution/ damage to environment

Its obvious pollution if its chemicals they realease. And if its not chemicals and just hot air then it makes artificial clouds. Clouds stop the sun getting through. Palnts need sun to thrive so it can eventually affect crop production, small animal life etc etc. Artificial clouds trap warm air and smog particles underneath and stop its release. And add the artificial warming effect as well.

Well I am talking more about clear days and more in summer where the sky is covered with these artificial jet trail cirrus " clouds " . The heat gets through to the earth but not so easily get out. So heat is trapped.(And pollution as well )

By what mechanism does pollution escape the planet’s environment, and how do clouds prevent that?

Re: Jet trails in the sky

These trails are not pollution caused by the engines of the plane but sprayed intentionally. They contain powerful homeopathic chemicals that can dilute optimally in the thin air. These influence the minds of the masses.

I always hide under the table in my house when I see them. Just to be sure.

Chemtrails have been debunked a thousand times. It's just condensed water vapor. But it does have a impact on climate https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cont...ls_and_climate

The only thing that can be done is to fly less.

Re: Jet trails in the sky

No, aircraft (assisted by ATC systems) can avoid areas of moist air. This, obviously, is more difficult around airports and in dense traffic areas like in Europe. On long haul routes, like trans-atlantic, aircraft routings are adjusted hourly to avoid creating contrails*.

Aircraft, still, are obligated to fly fixed paths in the air - because the people who work for ATC are worried that making the system more efficient will cost them jobs. A conservative estimate calculates that airlines could save 10-15% or more of their fuel burn (and other related costs) if their flights could fly point-to-point.

Vapour trails themselves have an effect of cooling, rather than warming.

*And why waste contrail chemicals over the Atlantic?

The other day I passed by the airport and while leaving the parking lot, a 777 had commenced its ascent with its twin Pratt & Whitneys on full blast. . .it was a beautiful moment. I always get emotional. It was like watching your first born ride the bicycle alone for the first time after you take off the training wheels. A single tear made out of molten alloy rolled down my cheek and in this brief ephemeral moment I whispered to myself "suck on this, sea urchins and baby seals " as I watched the plane disappear into the sunset. (Mind you it was around noon but I mentioned sunset just for dramatics)

Leave them chemtrails alone, it's a sign that the world is still ok.

Re: Jet trails in the sky

Flying over the USA was banned for some days after 9/11, the chem trails disappeared and the climate started warming noticeably.

Luckily flights soon started again the temperature was balanced again. So the point is, that what these planes dump in the upper atmosphere is actually helping prevent climate change...

Re: Jet trails in the sky

Watch out for when the trails are slightly discoloured. This is when the sanitary tanks (for want of a better term) on long-haul flights are emptied. Careful observation of the exact colour can give an indication of what the in-flight meal was.

We used to debate over a mile high club and now we talk about poop pollution. That is good news, I see progress.

Alas and alack, we live in a time of global mask shortages for reasons discussed at great length on another thread. You'll have to find another activity to occupy your time in the air.
