Re: Enjoy your chlorinated Kentucky chicken!

AFAIK, chlorine-washed chicken is not allowed in Switzerland or the EU (for now). Yes, your KFC in the USA might have been washed. Guess what? The Americans wash eggs too, which is why they can't be kept on a regular shelf and must be refrigerated or they will go off very quickly.

Who cares? I have a KFC near work that I've never even been to!

And what on earth is wrong with a chlorine wash?

Correct. EU does not allow it per its sanitary food rules, and I believe CH by extension through the bilaterals. But it is high on Trumps gripe list vis vis the EU. Seems UK is likely to go the way of the US in a trade deal though, and this will be another Brexit breaking point.

I think he has naked photos of the mods, because his rampant trolling and idiocy has gone on for so long that I fail to see how he has no leverage over them. Many far better posters have been banned for far less than the deluge of utter nonsensical crap that this guy posts. Even by the standards of this forum, people new to the forum must read his posts and wonder wtf is going on.

But yeah... we will likely be saying the same in a year.

The barbaric treatment of " production line" animals is not a trolling theme

Oh it does. But it's worse in the US because of their even lower animal welfare standards.

I fully agree.

For the same reason, I don't eat hot dogs anymore. Terrible how those animals are treated.

It's the fact that relying on it means they don't have to have good hygeine practices throughout the production process, including the welfare of the animals before slaughter.

Now I'm not one to rant about animal rights and all that, but chicken that's raised in a low stress, low density (i.e. free range), good feed, environment, tastes a lot better, which is something you should certainly care about.

I can control what I buy to cook at home, but elsewhere one is at the mercy of the provider, and I'd hate to think that I might get served up some caged sick animal on my plate that's 'safe' to eat only because it's been washed in chlorine after butchering.

I used to eat meat. But at that time I did not reflect on what I was eating. But once in a while I revert to decadence and buy a small can of sardines

Meat produced in CH is still OK, especially if you buy directly from farms.

A serving of chlorinated chicken is far better then a week sick in the hospital.

Maybe they should chew their chicken a bit less?

Instead, how about more sustainable, more hygienic, morally better farming methods (with obvious reduced output) and you Americans eat quite a bit less to compensate?

EU bans bleached chickens. And nobody goes to hospital from eating chickens. The Amis must have really bad animal conditions!
