Playstation 5

Any gamers on here?

Were you impressed by the PS5 launch and lineup? I hadn't heard of Project Athia before, but it looks like the game I'd most like to play from the launch titles.

Some stores had "dummy's" up on their website, those prices ranged from 400,- to 999,- Estimates however indeed are around 499,- Much more expensive and too little people would buy it. I think both of them are waiting and hoping the other announces first. The difference of 100,- with the previous generation put XboX behind from the start.

Re: Playstation 5

I think the plan in the US was $450 for download only and $499 for physical media version.

I suspect that translates around 500chf for download only version and 550chf for physical here.

Re: Playstation 5

While the console does look like a strange wifi-router, the games announced were mostly pretty high quality.

Horizon 2, Spiderman, GT7 and Demon's Souls remake will definitely be console sellers.
I'm a bit disappointed that there were no new VR or price related announcements though.

Let's see what they announce at TGS.

Whilst some launch titles looked OK, surely the real wow will be GTA 6, Elder Scrolls 6 and whatever version of Uncharted (or similar) comes up next.

GTA 5 made something like half a billion in 2019. I don't think they're in any rush to develop and release GTA 6

A full 4k remaster would be fine too . Take my money!

I'm not really a console player, but the next gen will arrive at a critical time and I think will be a huge advance for gaming and will really raise the bar for games. PC gamers will have some catching up to do...

Don't say that too loud or we'll have all the PC fanbois telling us how they are the master race!

I have an Xbox and PC, the latter provides a much better overall experience, it's more versatile, larger game selection and with the Xbox Elite controller connected to my nVidia shield and streaming to the living room OLED TV it makes the Xbox absolutely useless. but to each his own, i think the consoles have their place, i'm surprised they are becoming so expensive though. Part of the rationale was that they were cheaper than a pc, these days this doesn't seem to be the case and the games i personally play are cross-platform or pc mainly.

Not sure what you mean, my kids play the xbox, i prefer the PC and we would occasionally play forza on the xbox together. to each his own, competition is on the field, not on the forums

I think up until now, with PC you could get better graphics etc. but at a much higher cost than consoles. When the next gen consoles come out, I think they will give a better experience at a lower cost, but I think PCs will catch up soon after. Competition is good for the consumer
