There's a similar story about a cat in Olten, named Toulouse. They dubbed him "The King of Olten" and Alex Capus even wrote a book about him. After his passing, the city errected a small statue in his honor.

You're very welcome. Capus does an excellent job depicting the town, the cat and the overall mood of its inhabitants.
