How much you sleep daily?

I am sleeping usually from 23.30 to 5.30...I am sleeping like that for more than 25 years...what do you think is normal?...or this is normal?

6 hours. seems good if enough for you. i'd prefer 7 hours, but have been surviving on much less.

EDIT: as seen from timestamps. I go to bed around 1.30/2.00am and wake up (get woken up) at 6am. so only 4-4.5 hours of sleep. Ideally I'd go to bed at 11pm/midnight to get 6-7 hours of sleep.

Not necessarily a question of normal, more like when you need to be up at a certain time. Weekdays I'm up at 5.25am to get hubby off to work at 6am then I'll go to bed at 11pm. Weekends I get up later because I don't need to be up that early on those days.

Pre-COVID, probably averaging 7 hrs. Now, 8 hrs

I remember a very long time ago in an office where I worked.. A colleague came in wearing his suit, shirt, tie etc.. But had no socks on..

Asking him about his lack of foot underwear, he replied .. "..I fell out with the wife last night, I don't know where she keeps my fuxing socks..'

You lucky beast. Pre Covid 7 hrs, Covid 5-6hrs. But summer and sunshine gets me all too super excited to just lay in the bed and wait for a "decent" hour to get up.

7 to 8 hours but not necessarily within 24 hours. I live my life independent from petty things like dark and light. So often the morning songs of the birds lull me to sleep.
I sleep longer when I go to bed at "normal times" than after I've been up 22 hours - which may not be logic but that's how it is.

If you’ve been doing this for 25 years, it’s probably your normal.

Me, I sleep 7-8 hours a night, usually from midnight to 7 or 8.

Mine varies quite a bit due to occasional phases of insomnia, but I know that I feel best when I've had at least 7 hours of sleep (even better if I can get 8). If I only get 6 hours, I usually feel it the next day.

I've read before that the adult human brain is wired to function best on 8 hours of sleep, but I've also read that some people can do well on less. I've also read that the brain literally begins to 'eat' itself when someone doesn't get enough sleep.

"Sleep deprivation actually causes the brain to feed off of neurons and synaptic connections, a new study published in the Journal of Neuroscience says. In other words, when you don't get enough sleep, your brain starts to eat itself."

I used to think I slept at least 7-8 hours per night. But then I bought the Fitbit Charge 3 - initially to count my steps. The problem is this tracker also has a sleep application (based on resting heart rate and using an algorithm I assume).

So now I receive a sleep "rating" each day (note: extremely addictive!). I think I am more attentive to this sleep "rating" than my steps! To complicate matters, I think this sleep algorithm is pretty accurate - based on how I feel the next morning.

So, instead of getting the mosts steps, I find myself trying to get the "best" sleep! Ughh! Technology rears its ugly head

One is for the daytime, one is for the night time... they don't conflict so try and get the best of both. If you ever upgrade to Garmin then you will gett he "body battery" function... that's pretty cool and reasonably accurate.

I'd switch it off for a while at night and see if your sleep improves.

I think things turn out better if we don't try to quantify them constantly.

Maybe steps too. I know my daily tracks are higher quality if I don't know exactly how many kms I put away. Even when I know I do roughly 8km per day on various tracks. But one is more present, observant, mindful...meditative. Makes me own the work out better, kinda.

I wore my watch as well for a couple of nights...was telling me that I actually sleep deep only 2.5 hrs...didn't wear anymore...I am in my annual holiday now and actually sleep less than on working days, as I am enjoying reading...during the day busy to entertain my kids...

9-10 hours and I try not to use alarms whenever possible. If I have to, I use my watch that vibrates instead of making loud noises, helps a lot with waking up.
