Tatort «Züri brännt» tonight 18.Oct

Love Tatort anyway, so just wanted to give the heads up for the new series beginning tonight in a new city, Zürich.

Thanks for the reminder. We are big Tatort fans, so are looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Do you have a favourite team?

I like the Austrian teams because I've spent a bit of time there.

Must say, I really enjoyed that episode. I knew about Zurich Needle Park in the mid-80s, but this slice of the city's history was new to me and all checks out if you open this link in your translator - https://www.bluewin.ch/fr/infos/suis...it-396882.html

Meh. Not as bad as Ghostbusters 2 but not really good either.

The movie is made for (ex-)Zürcher and the Swiss old enough to remember the opera riots. Everybody else is left out, the movie explains far too little to make that aspect interesting for "outsiders". Overall it's one more movie that falsifies the feminist mantra according to which a woke movie is supposedly good per se.

blueangel, you may be interested in the Globuskrawalle and Meier19 as well. Perhaps also P-26 and the Fichenaffäre, though those surfaced a decade later and are more or less unrelated to the others.

I liked it. The bitching chemistry between the two ("ferme ta gueule", and "Arschloch"). Perfect. How they put the "alte Garde" away and show that the young ones are not that different and still follow the old Filz and personal favouritism.

But yes if you do not know the history of the Rote Fabrik and the Opernhauskrawalle you might miss some background information. https://www.sozialarchiv.ch/2020/03/...zueri-braennt/

The real and actual Züri Brännt movie from the 1980 about can be found here: https://www.artfilm.ch/zueri-braennt

An other piece of Zurich, or should I say Zureich, history is the Wohlgroth. Were such nice cineastic pieces as Züri Metztgete and Blutgeil come from.

While the I lived and studied in Zurich during Opernhauskravall - a rage that was long due and the council of Zurich well deserved yet was not productive in my opinion - I had long moved on when Wohlgroth was active.
I just watched a video about it and it was actually an amazing place, very well organized when you see beyond the optical chaos most people will probably dislike. Offering things the town government should have taken care of.
I'm impressed. Retroactively. Better late than never: Congrats folks! One or two of you might even be in EF today.

Something change, something remain. Today's Wohlgrot is the Koch-Areal.
