Thanks all, I am so looking forward to this trip.
Called mum last night to tell her the news, feeling pretty emotional I sort of sobbed into the phone, only to be asked if I were drunk...!
They donīt make them like that anymore.
@ GParker. The next model up for the Dommi would be the Commando. Sadly Norton has gone into administration after 122 years, there is however a glimmer of hope on the horizon, India's TVS Motor Company has bought Norton for cash and will continue the Name. Letīs all hope they continue to build British motorcycles in the traditional sense and not Britified yoghurt beakers.

I was thinking Lichtensteig, but you've nailed it. And Slammer, totally with you on Norton My uncle wrote for 'Classic Bike' magazine and had a cortege of Vincents at his funeral.

Can't wait to see the pictures.
BTW did that Hôtel later became the Regina- now closed awaiting refurbishment? As kids in the Gymnase/Lycée, we used to go on ski trips to Grindelwald in the 60s. We used to escape from the windows of the army barracks we were staying in after teachers and younger kids had gone to sleep - and go to the Disco at the Regina. One night we saw Lazenby and Diana Rigg having drinks whilst we were dancing on stage- and 2 of us went to ask for their autographs. The first real British people I had ever spoken to - no idea what happened to said autographs! 67 or 68? They were filming 'On your Majesty's Secret Service'.

I sent a mail to the hotel Belvedere and they replied that yes, that is their hotel in the picture.
I am still in awe at all this.
