| | Good Movies during COVID
Just watched a very good film "Hanna" and thought I would start a thread to find out other good films you EFers would suggest...
"Hanna" stars Saoirse Ronan and Kate Blanchett. It is well acted, written and edited. I highly recommend |

Thank you for this post!
Maybe not during COVID (That's bee a long time!), but in the past week or so:
Tenet: I was completely confused and had no idea what was going on. I had a look at some explanatory YouTube videos and while all the details and concepts are really clever, there is no way I would have worked them out watching the movie
Wonder Woman 1984: I'm not a huge superhero fan to start off with, but this movie wasn't much to write home about
What I have lined up:
On the Rocks: Bill Murray, what more can I say?
Promising Young Woman: Looks like a nice revenge movie

| | | | | I was planning to watch Tenet soon. Now I'm all the more curious about it after seeing your post.
I recently watched The Midnight Sky on Netflix (with George Clooney), which was pretty good, albeit a bit slow at times. I wasn't expecting the ending.
Not sure if series count, but a few of my favorite series are Ozark, The Handmaid's Tale and Orange is the New Black. I also watched a series on Netflix titled "Away" a few months ago that was really good.

I worked in a hotel when I was younger and when escorting Juliette Lewis to her room, she said that the hotel reminded her of the hotel in the Shining! Although that was trumped by Greta Scacchi exclaiming, in a packed lift, that the difference between my hotel and others was the quality of the prostitutes!

I just finished the first season of Fargo (inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers film, also a must) and highly recommend it. The suspense and cold atmosphere, the storyline and the dialogues are incredibly well done and manage to hold viewers at the edge of the couch at all times.

Speaking of complex plots... I watched a German series titled "Dark" a while back but had to give up on it because the plot became so ridiculously complex, with time-jumping, etc., that I wasn't able to understand anymore who was who and what was what.

They had so many breaks, changes, twists, and reboots of the time stream that it just became ridiculous.
