| What a cluster F that was! Digitec have become really scummy! They posted a price list a few hours in advance, so that buyers could be prepared. Then, when the actual sales started, they increased the prices "DYNAMICALLY"
Anyway I have my PC and I got it all at close to normal price. No thanks to Digitec! | |

Digitec do like their dynamic pricing, but to do it on a five-minute land rush where the prices are pumped up at the start is rather taking the piss.
Anyway, the graphics card shortage is yesterday's news; the hard disk shortage (due to Chia mining) is all anyone is talking about now.
I have a voracious appetite for Seagate Exos 16TB disks which are now almost impossible to find (or, indeed, any 16TB at a reasonable price). Luckily, I snapped up the last four that Digitec had at the great (then) price of SFr. 360 (it's a mystery why Exos drives are (were) so much cheaper than other equivalents, but I'm not complaining). So I'm fine for a bit.
Actually, back to graphics cards, I just noticed another sale tomorrow (12 May) with a whole load of 3090s priced between SFr. 2300 and SFr. 2600. If you believe the Ethereum price will keep rising (it's very strong at the moment), one of these could earn SFr. 8000 in a year. (That's definitely not guaranteed...)
