Another one bites the dust...

Well... looks like the recent coupattackbollox has had the desired effect. Depending upon your viewpoint, obviously. Some of you are no doubt dancing around in your self-rightous pants and having quite the time.

You mean again?

In other news V has been unbanned, no idea by whom.

I've just worked it out. I got a rep yesterday from N/A. I guess he was a cricketer.

Plenty of people rushed to self delete a year ago (including RufusB) when all the previous mods were in control, so this is just business as normal.

EastEnders recently deleted, perhaps I would not have had to post her leaving thread on her behalf, if the changes had occurred a couple of weeks earlier.

I wouldn't be surprised if people start leaving again because of the mod shake-up, especially if we start seeing the Trump strategy of leadership: undoing respectable actions implemented by previous mods.

Does this mean we'll have to have a hidden reference list of who's who amongst the new user names?

It did happen iirc after a similar deed done to the mod team as the one currently going on. For me this is different from EE leaving (luckily she is still very active on different channels)

Hopefully he carries now water, some chocolate and a blanket in the car because accidents in the highways still happen and the police will close it for hours :D

I doubt we will see any Trump strategy of leadership, I believe the forum will be more friendly as a result of the changes. It's a free world, posters are free to come & go as they please.

We are all beholden to certain rules and regulations. Even in a free world, people get banned due to their actions.

Yes, I'll shortly be following my fellow ex-mod.
It's amazing what people will do to get out of paying a bet although I did send him my banking details a couple of months ago, time will tell.

21 August 2021 is the end date, if the £ is worth more than CHF 1.2412 I win, if below I lose.

Sorry Olygirl, I've read the rules and can't see anything that says people can't delete themselves and start again. Is there something I'm missing?

You keep referencing that. It must really be a thing for you, huh? And under my previous GDPR request for my previous posts to be forgotten... your frequent referencing of that time could be... problematic. Legally speaking.

Not that I owe you even this but I did not rush. It was carefully considered and had very little to do with any of the previous group of mods.

I haven't seen anything about that particular topic but there is a code of ethics that both mods and posters need to adhere to, as seen in the above link.

I'm guessing it's more to do with the acceptable behaviour section. Something EB and his Merrie Band should refamiliarise themselves with.

Yes, I'll shortly be following my fellow ex-mod. A very sad day. I urge any of you who feel that this has gone too far to consider doing the same. Do bear in mind that in many cases some traces of your posting history or identity may remain, so a carefully-worded request for "complete" deletion, not leaving any posts from you under the name "guest", and ensuring that threads that you started do not show up still showing your name as the starter, would be required.

This isn't "business as normal", this is the death of a forum.
LOL.

Drama much?

On another note, my Groan count went down for some reason.

Do you honestly believe that after some moderators leave, this will be the end of the forum? As in, the hundreds of members that sign up each year and stick around will care if Ace1 or FMF or Castro or MC is in moderation? If so, I can only imagine what sort of a power-rush was for you being in moderation..

And to be clear here, I never had a single complaint against you as a moderator.

Death of a forum! Get over yourself!!

It‘s time all this naval gazing and public bloodletting ended. Most EF don‘t give a fig - or even know who the proponents in these childish shenanigans are…
