This reminds me of a time in the mid 1970's when Japanese bikes were still somewhat of a novelty. As in many towns, bikers had the regular meeting place in the town centre. One chap had that morning collected his brand new Honda 750 and having ridden it round for a while to get used to it, rode to where we were to show it off to his mates, and to impress the local girls.

He rode up the High Street giving it a few bursts of throttle to let us know he was there. He pulled up alongside us, jumped off, flipped the side stand down and turned to us with an expression of pleasure in his new pride and joy. His expression soon turned to one of agony as the sidestand sprung back and the bike fell on him, trapping him under the hot exhaust!

We were all laughing too much to assist immediately (cruel, I know, but we couldn't help it). He was much more careful from then on.

Rod
Absolutely unbelievable....exactly the same thing happend to me on the Tower Ramparts in Ipswich town centre in 1978. I pulled up on my pride newly purchased 400/4, to many admiring glances....bloody Honda side stands. It pinned me a treat and after they'd all stopped laughing 2 guys had to pull the poxy thing of me

Re: embarrassing moments as an adult.

When I was still in Scotland, I had to take one of the dogs to the vets. So I left work drove 30 minutes home, had some lunch and took them all for a quick walk. I got back in the car for a 30 minute drive to the vets, and as usual I was now running a little late, so phoned the vet from the car to inform her. I duly arrived at the surgury, pulled into the car park, got out opened the boot.....empty..... I'd forgotten Wispa.

The most embarrasing bit was when I phoned back to re-appoint, the assistant asked why I wasn't coming in....as I was in the car park....she was watching me from the window

Re: embarrassing moments as an adult.

I went to a posh restauant in Phuket with MG. We got out of the car and the doorman opened the restaurant door, with a polite smile and sawadeekrup. I turned to MG to say how nice it was, to see her frozen to the spot with her skirt round her ankles....the button had pinged off as we got out of the car.

Re: embarrassing moments as an adult.

My husband just reminded me today of the restraunt he took me to when he proposed to me. The thing that was funnies about it, other then that he proposed using hair clips instead of a ring, was the nüsslisalat (sorry if its spelled wrong) we had there a month before. It was my first time eating this type of salad, and i really did love that sauce.

As i was eating the salad, a part of a leaf hung out over my bottom lip. Instead of trying to tuck it in with my fingers, i tried to suck it in quickly. It wouldnt budge except to flap in the wind (thip thip thip thip thip). It took me 3 tries to suck it in with it flapping (thip thip thip thip thip) until i gave up and used my fingers to put it in my mouth. Needless to say, we were all laughs the rest of the evening.

Re: embarrassing moments as an adult.

Ok this is more of a stupid mistake i did, i was reminded of this because we have just come back from holiday, and my husband made a comment about it.

2 years ago we where going on holiday, and as we were setting off very early in the morning (going to Basel about 2-3 hours to drive) i made a flask of tea (with milk) when we got to Basel i left the flask inside the car with some tea still inside. So off we went on holiday, and a week later we returned opened the boot and the most disgusting smell hit us yes the tea with the milk had spilled on the carpet, it was again very early in the morning, and cold, but we had to drive home with the roof off the car (we had left our car with my husbands parents, and taken there cabrolet) we had the heating going full blast i can tell you. The next day we had to face my husbands parents and tell them what had happened, they where not very happy with me. There car ended up in the garage for over 2 weeks while they tried to get the smell out, the garage once even said they might have to scrap the car because they couldn`t get the smell out. In the end they could, and we had to pay the bill so what we thought was going to be a cheap holiday ended up bring expensive.

They never lent us there car again

Not fair i missed it being away you can tell me when we meet in a few weeks please.

Ok this was disgusting i am nearly being sick typing this.

On the way back to the airport a little boy lay down on the seat behind my husband, and little boy, and he was screaming in pain i looked at him and asked his mum if he was ok, then all of a sudden he opened his mouth and he vomited all over, but the worst thing was it ran all down the coach onto our hand luggage, and the smell well i can leave that upto your imagination i couldn`t wait to get off that coach.
