Re: What are you currently reading?

Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey.

Touted as "an Australian To Kill A Mockingbird". Not as good as that (so far) but still really good. About racism and violence in a small Western Australian mining town, as seen through the eyes of a 13 year old boy. Am really really enjoying it.

I just finished Room - can't say I liked it.
Yeah, me neither. And it just seemed to skim through the issues and feelings in the latter part.

Re: What are you currently reading?

I happened to get a glimpse in LiB's book bag the other day ( don't ask ) and I noticed this... I don't know if it's what he is currently reading or if he was... "holding it for someone"

"Sh*t My Dad Says" but Justin Halpern. Hysterical book. I laughed till I cried.
Really ? Was put off by the abysmal TV show...

Just finished Surface Detail .. By Ian M Banks.. top book.. daft ending
Cant make it through Kavalier and Clay by M Chabon.. too slow
Shouldn't be enjoying Imperial Bedrooms as much as a I am...

I agree on the first one - I don't think I am part of the target audience...

Has anyone read Chaos by David Mitchell?

I am just curious, because a friend says it is the best book he read.

I've read Chaos by James Gleick - it's brilliant, but probably very different...

Re: What are you currently reading?

I read it!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love Paul Coelho. I wrote him once and he replied (yes, I want to believe that it was him that replied):

"May the light warriors stayed united, the time of fear ends and the time of hope starts." (ok, it sounded better in Spanish).

Enjoy!

Reading, Sorting out Billy by Jo Brand, as fast as I can because I want to start reading Make Room Make Room by Harry Harison. Anyone read it? Sounds interesting.

"New York" by Edward Rutherford. Although I enjoyed "Sarum" and "Dublin", I'm not quite sure about this one - yet
