Thank you very much for the feedback! How long did you stay in around Angkor? How did you move around visiting different temples?
I am going to check the weather and also th beaches in the south.
Take care
Lorenzo
I spend three days in Angkor which I found just about right - after three days do temple start to look all the same... Angkor is a huge national park (several hundred square km). We had a private guide and driver who drove us to the various temples.

Sounds good... I guess you can easily find local private guide as soon as you arrive on site. Probably even asking at the reception of the hotel.

Hello! I think it is clear that Angkor temples deserve at least 2-3 days... I am still looking for some tips about the beaches. I heard about Sihanoukville or Kampot but actually I don't know anybody who has been there... Any advise would be great!

Dont know about Kampot, but Ocheuteal, one of the beaches on Sihanoukville was rustic back in 2000. 20 quid a day and you lived like a king. Serendipity on the other end of Ocheuteal is quieter and less developed.

Things might have changed since then, even though it was quiet, it wasnt a place for peaceful night strolls by the beach. Cambodian beaches still havent caught up with the level of development of tourism like Thailand, Bali or the Phillippines. If you enjoy being more amongst locals (and people from neighbouring countries), and dont mind living a little on the wild side, then thats the place for you.

I am ready to live a bit on the wild side but I need to be "compensated" by really beautiful blue sea and white sand beaches... I hope it would be the case in Cambodia :-)

Re: Cambodia or Laos information wanted

I was close to change plans for the vacations but now Cambodia is back at the top of the list. Any new suggestion about "must see" in Cambodia, about transportations withing the country or recommended beaches in the south would be great.
