I've had so many cars and change them so often... I don't have time to give them a name or to remember one. I go by physical attributes: pulls the ladies, that one with 19inch wheels, wails like a banshee when I push her buttons...

In addition to the excellent photo-journalism that is contained therein, the journal also contains examples of correspondence from its readers, in which they relate their own experiences and adventures for the edification and enlightenment of others. The veracity of all this correspondence is assured, and only stories of the highest quality are considered for publication.
So I've been told.

One never knows when one might find it necessary to impersonate one of them.

We once had a Honda Civic. What I called it isn't appropriate to share in mixed company. ( <-WIDE OPEN)
Then we had a Honda Odyssey, which earned the moniker "Silver Lemon."
Now Mrs Texaner drives a Dodge she calls "White Knight," and I drive a Toyota Corolla 5-Speed which — being the hopeless romantic that I am — I affectionately call "Toyota Corolla 5-Speed." There, I participated.

I read it as: I go by physical attributes: pulls the ladies, that one with 19inch heels, wails like a banshee when I push her buttons...
...which conjured up a whole different set of mental images...

"Car reviewers refer to cars in animal terms," says Michael Downing, a novelist who teaches creative writing at Tufts University. "And if you watch people with their car, you can see them be tender with it. They'll trace a line with their fingertip. They don't do that with their television sets."
