What Nationality are you?

Just curious on how many different nationalities there is on this forum and how many are American like me! Sorry if I don't includes yours, I tried to think of the top ones out there. Vote and name the country you're from if its not specifically listed above.

Re: What Nationality are you?

I added "Australia / New Zealand" to your poll - there's quite a large number on this forum, so they might be upset that there was no option for them

No problem, I knew I was forgetting something, but I couldn't think of what it was. I kinda feel stupid now. Thanks for adding that.

Re: What Nationality are you?

Can we have a simple "UK", or add Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland?

I'm sure there's a bunch of Celts (close enough...) waiting to be offended by a simple "England"

And then there's the bloody Oirish to contend with

Re: What Nationality are you?

Sorry about not adding some of your countries like Ireland or Scotland. The max that I was originally given was 10, and only the administrator can add more, and thankfully his adding your requests to the list.

Seeing as UK and Ireland seem to be coming out as one of the major players here... how about splitting them up?

It's not possible to split them up because people have already voted on them, it wouldn't be possible to tell which was which. Besides, the aim of a poll is actually to have as few choices as possible

I'm Danish. And have just arrived. Basel seems like a nice town. It's small though :-) I already walked it almost from end to end today.

Re: What Nationality are you?

The poll lists both countries and continents. Perhaps should change the poll question to which country/continent do you hail from?

I think it's clear that no matter what we put it won't be perfect but the poll is already running. Choose your country, if you don't see it, choose the most closely matching continent. If you are extra-terrestrial or hail from Greenland or the antarctic you are fresh out of luck...

Re: What Nationality are you?

Well, I've got a Malaysian passport but lived in the US going to uni and grad school for about 12 years there so I talk and walk like an American but hopefully not smell like one (not that there's anything wrong with that! )

Now living in Leeds, UK working still for an American company located in the US. I telecommute to the US most days. Thankfully, it's only a 2 second commute from by bed to my computer.

Hoping to move to Lausanne within the year with my English girlfriend after getting married. She's a nurse and speaks perfect German (high) and reasonable French so that should hopefully mean finding a job for her won't be too hard. I'll continue to telecommute!

BTW, this forum has been great with getting a sense of the situation we'd find in Switzerland so thanks to all who've contributed.

Re: What Nationality are you?

Well, I'd provide a whinge about NZ and Oz being the same for the purposes of this poll, but when this far away from home, we're pretty much the same. Except when there's cricket and rugby on. Then we're enemies.
