| | Istanbul info - for long weekend, this weekend!
I have googled and read up on several sites about Istanbul, but just seeking any personal recomendations of what to see and do.
We have a recommendation for accommodation and I will post it next week if it lives up to expectations!
Shopping, eating and sightseeing tips particularly welcome as we are taking our two teenage sons with us.
Thanks!

Was in Istanbul last two days.
Very very nice.
Leaving this morning.
Drove here via Bulgaria, not nice.
Haga Sophia, Blue Mosque, Tokapi Palace, Spice Bazaar, and the Grand Bazaar are all very nice.
Enjoy, as the city is very, very tourist friendly.

I have to get out of here for some days to recharge battery, and think will surprise the husband with a weekend trip to Istanbul. Cheers for posting this!
As we'll be able to go only from Friday evening to Sunday evening, does anybody who has been to Istanbul know, if most of the buildings to visit, bazaars etc. will be open over the weekend?
